Terms & Conditions

Service Specific Terms & Conditions (“SSTC”) – Maxis Home 4G WiFi

Version [9 December 2021]

    1. The Plan: Maxis Home 4G WiFi 138.
    2. You: Person(s) signing up for the Plan who is either new customer or an existing Maxis customer.
    3. The Plan and use of the Service(s) under the Plan is subject to the General Terms & Conditions ("GTC"), this Service Specific Terms & Conditions ("SSTC"), the Summary Terms and Conditions ("STC"), Maxis Fair Usage Policy and any other applicable terms and conditions, all at www.maxis.com.my/terms-conditions/personal/.
    4. All capitalised terms herein have the same meaning as defined in the GTC.
    5. Any conflict or inconsistency between this SSTC, the GTC and the STC, shall be construed in the following order of precedence: (a) SSTC; (b) GTC; and (c) STC.
    6. We reserve the rights without liability, to revise this SSTC, the GTC, the Plan and our pricing. Where reasonably practicable, we will give you reasonable advance notice of such changes and all previous versions of our user guides or leaflets will be superseded. You accept you are responsible for regularly reviewing information on the Plan and Service(s) under the Plan at www.maxis.com.my/tnc, including changes to the Agreement. Your continued use of the Service(s), and/or the Plan (after the Effective Date of any revision/change to the terms and conditions of the Agreement, Services, and/or Plan) shall constitute unconditional acceptance by you of such revisions/changes and you shall be bound by the same. If you do not accept such revisions/changes, you will terminate the Plan and/or the use of the Services under the Plan by giving us notice within twenty eight (28) days from the Effective Date failing which you are assumed to have accepted the changes.
    1. You are not eligible for the Plan if you have any outstanding payments with us.
    2. This Plan is not applicable to you if you are a commercial user and/or bulk subscriber.
    3. Notwithstanding the above, Maxis reserves the right to change the eligibility criteria for the Plan from time to time.
    4. The applicable Charges and rate table guide for the rate plan under the Plan are as set out on our website at https://www.maxis.com.my/broadband/maxis-home-4g-wifi/. Charges and rates displayed do not include any applicable taxes.
    5. You are responsible for payment of all Charges associated with the Plan.
    1. A deposit of RM500 is chargeable for non-Malaysians subscribing to the Plan.
    2. Advance payment based on the rate plan under this Plan is as set out on our website at https://www.maxis.com.my/broadband/maxis-home-4g-wifi.
    1. Maxis Home 4G WiFi Bundle is available for purchase from Maxis participating retail and online partners and consists of (a) one (1) 4G router; (b) one (1) 4G Sim; and (c) complimentary Maxis Home 4G WiFi for 30 days (“Free WiFi Offer”) (collectively known as the “Maxis Home 4G WiFi Bundle”).
    2. If you wish to activate the 4G Sim and sign up for the Plan in the Maxis app, you must (a) create an account in the Maxis app; or (b) log-in your account in the Maxis app if you are an existing Maxis customer.
    3. Once you have successfully activated the 4G Sim and signed up for the Plan, (a) the Free WiFi Offer will automatically be assigned to your bill; and (b) the Free WiFi Offer will commence.
    4. Upon expiry of the Free WiFi Offer, you will remain on the Plan and be required to pay all Charges for the rate plan under the Plan until you terminate the Plan in accordance with this SSTC.
    1. During the process to activate the 4G Sim and sign up for the Plan in the Maxis app, you may choose to register for a 12-months’ commitment period for the Plan where you will enjoy RM20 rebate from your monthly Charges of the Plan for 12 months (“Rebate Contract”).
    2. Once you have successfully activated the 4G Sim and signed up for the Plan in Maxis app, (a) the Rebate Contract will commence for a period of 12 months (“Rebate Contract Commitment Period”); and (b) RM20 rebate under the Rebate Contract will be automatically assigned to your bill during Rebate Contract Commitment Period.
    3. For the avoidance of doubt, during the Rebate Contract Commitment Period, (a) you do not need to pay any Charges during the Free WiFi Offer period; and (b) you will start to pay the Charges (less the rebate) i.e. RM118 per month, after the expiry of the Free WiFi Offer.
    4. You shall not during the Rebate Contract Commitment Period:
      1. terminate your Maxis Home 4G WiFi account;
      2. suspend or cause your Maxis Home 4G WiFi account to be suspended;
      3. have the Service(s) terminated for non-payment of monthly charges / bills; or
      4. change or transfer ownership of Service(s) to another person. 
    5. If any of the events in Clause 21 above occurs, it will be deemed as an early termination by you of the Rebate Contract and the following early termination charge based on the remaining of the Rebate Contract Commitment Period, calculated as follows will apply to you: RM20 x Remaining month(s) of the Rebate Contract Commitment Period
    6. Upon expiry of the Rebate Contract, you will remain on the Plan and be required to pay all Charges for the rate plan under the Plan. 
    1. For data allocated with the Plan, you acknowledge and accept:
      1. if your data usage exceeds 300GB in a month, Maxis may at its absolute discretion limit the quality of video streaming to standard definition during peak hours;
      2. the mobile internet package allocated within the Services(s) under the Plan is exclusively for domestic usage only. International / overseas roaming is not applicable for the Plan; and
      3. there is no guarantee of speed. Availability of the Service(s) under the Plan depends on Mobile Data Coverage, which you may refer to at this website (https://www.maxis.com.my/en/about-maxis/maxis-network/network-map/).
    1. You must register your CBR (Can Be Reached) mobile number at point of sale at any Maxis Outlet or call our Contact Centre (123) from your mobile for such registration and keep your CBR mobile number updated so that any of our notice can reach you in timely manner.
    2. The SIM card allocated to you for the Maxis Home 4G WiFi Service can be used with the modem provided (if you have signed up for the Maxis Home 4G WiFi Device Contract Offer with Maxis) or other home wireless broadband devices.
    3. Upon your subscription to the Plan, you are eligible to enter into selected mobile device contracts with us, which are subject to the respective mobile device contract terms and conditions including device warranty (if any). Subscription to the Plan does not affect your existing mobile device contracts with us (if any).
    1. For Maxis customers who subscribe to Maxis Home Zerolution (previously known as TV Zerolution) plan, you will be subject further to the Service Specific Terms & Conditions – Home Zerolution (“Home Zerolution SSTC”), available at https://www.maxis.com.my/en/terms-conditions/personal/broadband/home-zerolution/ Any conflict and inconsistency between this SSTC and the Home Zerolution SSTC, the Home Zerolution SSTC shall take precedence.
    1. Subject to our GTC, the account holder of the Service(s) under the Plan may at any time terminate the Plan as follows:
      1. by calling our customer care line at 1-800-82-1123 or dial 123 from your mobile;
      2. by walking into our Maxis Centre listed on www.maxis.com.my; or
      3. by writing in to customercare@maxis.com.my.
    1. We reserve the rights at any time, without being liable to you or any third party, to interrupt, bar, suspend, restrict the Service(s) for such time as we see fit or terminate, discontinue or disconnect the Service(s) if your usage:
      1. shows excessive usage or placing unusual burdens on our Network;
      2. is for unlawful activities or for suspected fraudulent activities;
      3. is not in accordance with the Maxis Fair Usage Policy;
      4. is for commercial/non-personal purposes; or
      5. is in contravention of any of the clause in this SSTC.
