Maxis Berhad (Maxis) today announced its financial results for the third quarter ended 30 September 2026, delivering solid financial growth driven by disciplined operational execution and strong momentum across its core business segments.
The Company recorded an 8.5% year-on-year (YoY) increase in Profit After Tax (PAT) to RM447 million. Service Revenue rose 1.1% YoY to RM2.27 billion, while Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation (EBITDA) expanded by 3.6% YoY to RM1.14 billion.
Maxis maintained a robust cash position, generating Operating Free Cash Flow of RM884 million. Disciplined working capital management effectively balanced the impact of higher regulatory payments during the period. Capital expenditure (Capex) stood at RM235 million, reflecting ongoing strategic investments in fibre expansion, network modernisation, and capacity upgrades across its integrated network.
In light of its steady performance and strong cash generation, the Board of Directors declared an interim dividend of 4.5 sen per share.
- Consumer Mobile: Service revenue grew 1.4% YoY to RM1.59 billion, supported by gains in Postpaid revenue. Total mobile subscribers stood at 9.59 million (down 2.8% YoY) following adjustments tied to new prepaid registration guidelines—a transition expected to foster a healthier, higher-value subscriber base focused on long-term retention and personalisation.
- Consumer Home: Service revenue rose 0.8% YoY to RM257 million, alongside margin expansion driven by Maxis’ own-built fibre footprint. Total home connections increased 3.6% YoY to 816,000, bolstered by strong demand for converged offerings.
- Enterprise Business: Service revenue reached RM419 million, up 0.2% YoY. Fixed and Solutions remained a primary growth catalyst, powered by robust demand for Corporate and Wholesale network solutions supporting AI workloads and data centre expansion. The segment also deepened traction in Internet of Things (IoT) deployments, particularly in smart metering and connected vehicles.
"Our third-quarter performance reflects the strength of our operating model and converged strategy. Disciplined execution continues to drive healthy cash generation, enabling the Board to declare an interim dividend of 4.5 sen per share. With this steady momentum, our full-year guidance remains firmly on track.” - Goh Seow Eng, Chief Executive Officer of Maxis.
"We thank the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for the recent spectrum award of an additional 2x10 MHz in the 2,600 MHz band. Together with our network modernisation and AI initiatives, this will further elevate customer experience and drive sustainable growth." - Goh Seow Eng, Chief Executive Officer of Maxis.
