From seamless connectivity to rewarding city experiences, Maxis is redefining how people engage with Kuala Lumpur, as KL Festival 2026’s exclusive telco partner and key sponsor.
Supporting the overall experience, Maxis has enhanced mobile coverage across event locations, including deploying a Mobile Cellular Vehicle (MCV) near Dataran Merdeka to strengthen connectivity during peak events during the festival’s opening and closing weekends. Backed by Maxis’ fast, reliable, and secure network, visitors can stay seamlessly connected when navigating maps, accessing festival updates, or simply keeping in touch with friends and family.
“At Maxis, we are always looking for meaningful ways to connect with our customers. Supporting KL Festival 2026 allows us to be part of moments that bring people closer to the city and the culture around them. It is also an opportunity to encourage people to explore and rediscover Downtown Kuala Lumpur at their own pace, in their own way, and through activities that resonate with them personally.” - Loh Keh Jiat, Chief Consumer Business Officer of Maxis
Presented by Think City and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), the festival celebrates the creativity, cultures and communities of Downtown Kuala Lumpur while reactivating the city’s historic core through shared cultural experiences.
“KL Festival reflects a shared vision for Downtown Kuala Lumpur, not just as a collection of buildings and infrastructure, but as a liveable and culturally vibrant city. Through our collaboration with Maxis, we are layering festivals and digital experiences into the city fabric, creating new ways for people to explore, engage and feel connected with Downtown KL.” - Dato’ Hamdan Abdul Majeed, Managing Director of Think City
Maxis has also introduced the KL Festival Discovery Pass, a mobile site accessible by scanning on-site QR codes. It allows visitors to explore events, book tickets, and earn points to win prizes such as smartphones and hotel stays, among others, while Maxis customers enjoy exclusive perks.

Beyond connectivity and the digital experience, Maxis was the main sponsor for the festival’s major opening weekend event, “Jogeton”, a vibrantly displayed dance marathon. To enhance the atmosphere, the Maxis Family Lounge provided a space for visitors to recharge with refreshments, games, and a chance to win giveaways. A similar experience awaits families during the final weekend on 30 May, as they join KL Festival for the Pancaragam Asia marching band showcase.
Held in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026, Warisan KL, and Kuala Lumpur’s designation as a UNESCO Creative City, the festival runs from 6 to 31 May 2026, featuring more than 80 free and ticketed events across 25 venues, spanning history, arts and culture, with something for everyone to enjoy.
This partnership marks Maxis' second "Explore with Maxis" collaboration with Think City, bringing people closer to the rich culture and character of Kuala Lumpur. It reflects our commitment to creating everyday discoveries and joyful experiences that bring our brand promise, Tomorrow Begins Today, to life.
