Maxis expands home solar accessibility with new Outright Purchase option for long-term investment
Maxis today announced the expansion of its Maxis Home Solar offerings with a new Outright Purchase option, making renewable energy more accessible to Malaysian households. The new option gives homeowners another way to lower their monthly electricity bills and take control of their energy usage with Maxis Home Solar, complementing the subscription plan launched in 2025.
Suitable for homeowners who want full ownership of their solar system, the Outright Purchase option is designed to maximise long-term value. Customers can reduce their monthly electricity bills by up to 80%, potentially recovering their initial investment in as little as three to five years. To make the investment even more accessible, Maxis is offering 0% interest easy payment plans of up to 36 months through selected partner banks.
For added peace of mind, customers who choose the Outright Purchase option will enjoy up to five worry-free years of complimentary maintenance, insurance and solar performance monitoring when they sign up by 31 May 2026. The plan covers any accidental damage to the solar PV system components, including panels and inverters, protecting homeowners against unexpected repair costs.
This timely expansion provides consumers with the freedom to choose a plan that best suits their needs. It also supports the government’s recent call for consumers to subscribe to the Solar Accelerated Transition Action Programme (Solar ATAP), which encourages households to boost energy self-sufficiency and mitigate electricity price volatility.
