Maxis celebrates the rhythm of Kaamatan at KDCA with “Aramaiti! Gema Jiwa Kaamatan”
Continuing its annual tradition, Maxis returns to the Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) with “Aramaiti! Gema Jiwa Kaamatan”.
Running until 31 May, the Maxis booth invites visitors into an immersive, multi-sensory celebration inspired by the harvest festival’s rich traditions and vibrant spirit.
Welcoming guests at the entrance of the KDCA grounds is Sabah’s first nine-foot mascot feature, a Maxis Dinocorn dressed in Kaamatan attire. The attraction was officially unveiled by YB Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin, Moyog State Assemblyman.
As the only telco sponsor of the Unduk Ngadau pageant, Maxis continues its longstanding support for this Sabah tradition. The booth will also feature appearances by the state-level Unduk Ngadau contestants and the Kupi-Kupi FM Cruiser team.
At the heart of the experience is an interactive drum installation inspired by the Kaamatan gong. Merging local culture with the power of connectivity, every beat triggers local motifs in a captivating display of light and colour.
Throughout the event, visitors can join drum workshops and performances to win exclusive Maxis merchandise, including Maxis Dinocorn & Friends. The excitement peaks on the final weekend with a rhythm challenge, offering exciting prizes such as smartwatches and speakers, amongst others.
Adding to the excitement, every new smartphone and Maxis plan sign-up at the booth comes with a lucky draw entry. Ten winners will get the chance to take part in the “60 Seconds Fill Your Trolley Challenge”, where Maxis will sponsor their haul of everyday essentials.
With “Aramaiti! Gema Jiwa Kaamatan”, Maxis reimagines the sounds and traditions of the harvest festival through shared experiences.
