Demonstrating the power of inclusive growth, Maxis recently hosted a community event in Kelantan to celebrate both entrepreneurial success and festive giving. The occasion marked the graduation of 44 local business owners from the Maxis eKelas Usahawan Accelerator Programme, an upskilling initiative that saw these entrepreneurs boost their average revenue by 24% in only three months.

To create a full circle of social impact, Maxis partnered with these graduates during a festive charity Iftar to give back to the local community, benefiting 280 members of Persatuan Orang Pekak Kelantan (POPK), Persatuan Insan Istimewa Kelantan (INSANI), Persatuan Orang Cacat Penglihatan Islam Malaysia Cawangan Kelantan (PERTIS), Rumah Kebajikan Anak Yatim Dan Dhuafa' Kelantan and other local charitable groups.

By ensuring the benefits of that success reach underserved groups, we are able to build a foundation for a self-sustaining local community. It is a truly meaningful occasion to celebrate these graduates’ achievements alongside our Ramadan community outreach," - Azizul bin Abdul Rahman, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of Maxis

Driving digital growth

The eKelas Usahawan Accelerator Programme's second cohort comprised 44 Kelantan-based entrepreneurs, who were upskilled with AI tools and digital marketing strategies. Held from November 2025 to February 2026, the programme was organised in collaboration with Kelab Usahawan Wanita Kelantan (KUWAK), Kementerian Pembangunan Usahawan dan Koperasi (KUSKOP) and Perbadanan Hal Ehwal Bekas Angkatan Tentera (PERHEBAT).

Through practical training and coaching sessions, participants were equipped with the skills to scale their businesses in the digital economy. Many of the participants recorded tangible growth in both revenue and social media following after applying digital marketing strategies from the programme.

Giving back to the community

As part of Maxis' festive community outreach, the occasion brought together beneficiaries for an evening of giving. Maxis and the eKelas Usahawan graduates partnered to distribute special Raya goodies to 100 members of POPK, INSANI, PERTIS and other local charitable groups in attendance. The goodies were prepared by the graduates themselves, allowing the entrepreneurs to give back to their community and bring their journey full circle.
