Maxis Berhad (Maxis) highlighted its role as a key enabler of digital transformation at the Smart City Expo Kuala Lumpur (SCEKL) 2025 held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, which was officially launched by Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato' Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim. The Maxis showcase was visited by Minister of Digital, YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, who was briefed on how smart city solutions can accelerate digitalisation for local councils and enhance public services. The first use case promotes safer roads by automatically detecting unsafe driving behaviours such as mobile phone use or failure to wear a seatbelt. This capability helps identify high-risk areas and common unsafe behaviours, enabling more effective road safety planning.
The second focuses on urban mobility, using automated vehicle identification to improve adherence to traffic, access, and parking regulations. This contributes to smoother traffic flow and more organised urban spaces. The third use case centres on public safety, highlighting how real-time video analytics can enhance situational awareness and support faster incident response times in public safety operations.
