In conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations, Malaysia's leading integrated communications service provider, Maxis Berhad ('Maxis'), is rewarding its customers with special offerings and discounts on calls and roaming, as well as introducing a new Chinese New Year video series called 'Grandfather Stories', which features 'grandfather' sharing stories about age-old traditions. All eight videos can be viewed at Maxis' YouTube channel at http://youtube.com/maxis. Alternatively, customers can also scan the special QR code on Maxis' Chinese New Year prints ads to view the videos. Customers will also have the opportunity to share their very own stories on Maxis' official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/Maxis or on Twitter at #yehyehstories.

Maxis' special offers and validity periods on calls and roaming this Chinese New Year include 30% discount on IDD calls to Australia, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Vietnam, Myanmar, Singapore, Taiwan, United Kingdom and United States on 10 February 2013. Additionally, there will be a 50% discount on local calls to Maxis and Hotlink numbers from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on 10 and 11 February 2013. Both these offers will be reflected in the customer's following month's bill.

Meanwhile, customers can also make calls to home from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan for only RM2.99 per minute with Maxis' Easy Callback service. To activate this service, customers just need to dial *100# from their mobile phones. This promotion is valid from 10 to 28 February 2013.

To add further excitement to this year's Chinese New Year festivities, Maxis today presented customers at the KLCC Maxis Centre with special 'nian-gao' or sticky rice cakes as well as a box of chopsticks in appreciate of their valuable support. Maxis' management team were also present in traditional Chinese New Year attire and greeted customers at the KLCC Maxis Centre, where they distributed the special gifts. 'Yeh Yeh' or Grandfather, the star of the 'Grandfather Stories' video series, also joined Maxis' management team during this special event.
