5G Standalone Network

Apple added it. On Maxis, your mobile service continues on 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) for now, even if you see the switch.
Note: VoNR is the technology that allows you to make and receive high-definition voice calls directly over a 5G Standalone (SA) network, without needing to drop back to a 4G network.

Consumer: Your Maxis mobile stays on 5G (NSA). The switch does not change your mobile service at this time.
Business Mobile Postpaid: 5G SA is available for Business Customers on Business Postpaid 169 and 199 plans with Priority Pass add-on (RM29/monthly).

Yes. 5G SA needs an SA-capable SIM/eSIM and an SA-enabled plan/profile, plus SA coverage. Maxis Mobile 5G plans today run on NSA; SA will apply to the upcoming Home/Business WiFi offerings.

Go to Settings > Mobile/Cellular > Mobile Data Options > Voice & Data, then toggle “5G Standalone & VoNR.” On Maxis mobile today, service remains on 5G (NSA).

Yes. 5G (NSA) is the default for Maxis mobile, and you’ll continue to use it.

Priority Pass is an add-on for RM29 monthly subscription service that complements your existing Maxis Business Plan plan, giving you exclusive access to the Maxis 5G Pro network.
Your company's Person In Charge (PIC) can easily subscribe and activate the new 5G SIM card through the Maxis Business Hub. Once the 5G SIM card is delivered, the PIC can activate it themselves via the Maxis Business Hub, and then you can simply replace it in your phone.
