Maxis and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) are collaborating to foster greater innovation and tech breakthroughs among startups through MDEC’s IdeaKita programme. As part of the partnership, Maxis’ Tai Kam Leong, Head of Brand and Marketing and Arjun Varma, Head of Maxis Consumer, provided their expertise as industry mentors to guide participants in the Office Hours Mentoring Sessions at MDEC’s 10-day IdeaKita Innovation Camp from 3-31 October.

The IdeaKita programme which is under the Malaysia Digital initiative, enables aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs to start their own tech companies across multiple industries, and provides industry mentorship, intellectual property awareness, and minimum viable product development. The bootcamp was divided into two tracks – for those who want to start a tech company but do not have a business idea yet; and for those who already have a business idea and are looking for customer and market validation, MVP development, and learning how to sell. Through the bootcamp, budding innovators and entrepreneurs were given access to industry mentors and training courses to validate their problem statements, ideas, and business models to bring them to market.
