Maxis Celebrates ONEder Parents This Mother's And Father's Day

Most parents have the support of their spouse in raising their families, whether financially or by also being there for the children. Then there are those who have to do it all on their own. Single parents – whether mothers or fathers – have to play dual roles, a challenge most of us can only imagine.

As we celebrate the upcoming Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Parent’s Day, Maxis embraces a more inclusive idea of parenthood by paying tribute to single parents – both mothers and fathers – with its ONEder Parent campaign. In kicking off the campaign, Maxis has launched its brand new video about a single dad learning to understand his young daughter. Click https://youtu.be/fOXKiEai_WQ to view the video!

As part of the campaign, Maxis is teaming up with Parents without Partners (PWP), a non-profit organisation that supports and empowers low-income single parents towards achieving financial independence, to help PWP reach more customers online through Maxis’ eCommerce platform. Since 2007, PWP has been raising funds for its programmes by operating Jumble Station, a store selling pre-loved donated goods ranging from books, toys and household items to garments and accessories, among others.

“We recognise the challenges of single parenting, especially from a financial standpoint, and wanted to help PWP’s Jumble Station continue fundraising sustainably. Before this, Jumble Station relied exclusively on selling through their physical store. With almost 50% of Malaysian consumers making online purchases monthly, we saw the potential in digitalising Jumble Station. Our goal is to empower the team through technology and the Internet so that the Jumble Station e-store can now target the right kinds of shoppers for different items. This is also the first time some single parents are selling their handcrafted items on an e-store, and we’re excited to be working with PWP to make this happen,” said Tai Kam Leong, Maxis’ Head of Brand and Partnerships.

As part of the partnership, the Maxis eCommerce team will set up an online store for PWP to create more awareness and drive visits from online shoppers. Maxis eCommerce is a one-stop solution that helps Malaysian retailers design, build and integrate their online stores, amplify their online presence with digital marketing and optimise performance through insights and analytics. Maxis will also train the PWP team to set up a digital product library, as well to pack and fulfil orders via tracked courier services. In addition, Maxis will sponsor a year of hosting, maintenance and support of PWP’s ecommerce site.

Later this month, Maxis volunteers, MSquad, will be taking part in the ONEder Parent campaign by donating pre-loved clothes, accessories and household items to be sold through the Jumble Station e-store. They will also be volunteering their time to help PWP curate and organise their e-store’s new online inventory.
