Maxis And Hotlink Customers Enjoy Free Bus And Boat Rides Home This Gawai

400 customers were given free bus and boat tickets to travel from Bintulu, Kuching, Miri and Sibu, to anywhere in Sarawak
Initiative was part of Maxis’ efforts in rewarding customers for their continued support

Maxis Berhad (Maxis) made this year’s Gawai celebrations extra special for 400 customers from all over Sarawak when it rewarded them a free ride back to their hometowns as part of its Free Ride Home programme. Maxis gave away a total of 300 bus tickets and 100 boat tickets for its postpaid and prepaid (Hotlink) customers travelling back to their respective hometowns between 17 May and 2 June 2014 to celebrate the festival with their family and friends.

From 17 to 30 May 2014, customers were able to redeem free bus tickets to travel from Kuching, Bintulu or Miri, to anywhere within the state. For the free boat tickets, they were able to redeem tickets for travel from Sibu to Kapit. All customers needed to do was go to the Hotlink counter at any of the selected bus stations or boat terminals during the redemption period to register their interest, where they were guided on the redemption process. Non-Maxis and non-Hotlink customers were also eligible for the free tickets if they purchased a #Hotlink pack at any of the locations.

“We’re thrilled that our Free Ride Home campaign was a success and that all 400 tickets were redeemed by our customers, who made their way safely to their hometowns to celebrate Gawai with their loved ones. In fact, all the tickets in Kuching were snapped up in just one day! This initiative was part of our efforts in rewarding customers for their loyal support, and we hope that we added some joy into their lives, especially during this festive season,” said Alexius Bong, Maxis’ Head of Sarawak Region.

Customers who redeemed the tickets expressed their appreciation to Maxis for offering rewards such as the Free Ride Home programme, especially during the Gawai festival, which is a time of celebration with family and friends. They also commented on #Hotlink’s offerings, noting that they particularly enjoy the free internet and low call rates.
