Maxis Menyambut Hari Natal Bersama Ahli-ahli Persatuan Malim Gunung Kinabalu

Gempa bumi yang melanda Ranau, Sabah pada bulan Jun tahun ini menyaksikan rakyat Malaysia bersama berganding bahu dalam memberi semangat dan bantuan. Sebagai tanda penghargaan di atas keberanian malim gunung dan untuk meringankan beban di mana mata pencarian mereka terjejas akibat tragedi itu, Maxis memilih untuk memberi bantuan sempena musim perayaan ini.

Pada 15 Disember, kira-kira 250 ahli-ahli Persatuan Malim Gunung Kinabalu dan keluarga mereka, disambut sebagai Tetamu Kehormat pada majlis Hari Natal yang diadakan di Taman Kinabalu, Kundasang. Pada acara tersebut, Maxis mengedarkan pakaian seragam sekolah kepada 100 ahli yang mempunyai kanak-kanak di bangku sekolah. Selain itu, Maxis juga menyumbang RM10,000 kepada Persatuan tersebut. Melvin Jeffrine Mojinun, Ketua Wilayah Sabah Maxis menyampaikan cek kepada Pengerusi Persatuan, Encik Richard Soibi.

“Selepas gempa bumi, pelbagai syarikat korporat telah tampil untuk membantu kami. Kali ini, ia berbeza. Maxis merupakan syarikat pertama yang menyalurkan sumbangan kepada anak-anak ahli kami dengan memberi pakaian seragam sekolah, yang tepat pada masanya, dan kami benar-benar menghargai sumbangan mereka,” kata Richard.

“Apabila kami mendengar tentang bagaimana malim gunung telah menyelamat begitu ramai orang semasa gempa bumi di Sabah Jun lalu, ia telah menginspirasikan kami untuk mengenali mereka dengan lebih dekat dan mengucapkan terima kasih di atas keberanian dan usaha mereka. Sempena musim perayaan ini, ia adalah masa yang tepat untuk bersama-sama menyambutnya dengan mereka dan juga keluarga mereka. Kami berharap sumbangan kami kepada Persatuan akan membantu mereka dalam menganjurkan aktiviti untuk ahli-ahlinya,” kata Melvin.

Pada awal bulan Julai, Maxis turut mengedarkan 20 unit tangki air sebanyak 400 gelen kepada mangsa gempa bumi di 10 buah kampung di Kundasang.
