• Understanding the Change

  1. Why is my Pocket WiFi plan being updated to Maxis Postpaid plan?
     We are retiring our legacy Pocket WiFi plans to bring you better value and a more seamless experience.
     Currently, your Pocket WiFi plan charges for voice calls and SMS on a pay-per-use basis. By moving you to a Maxis Postpaid plan, you will enjoy a massive data upgrade along with unlimited calls and SMS!
     Here are the details of your new rate plan:
     If you are on Pocket WiFi 78: You will be updated to Maxis Postpaid 79.
     • Data Upgrade: Your monthly 10GB data will be upgraded to 300GB.
     • Calls & SMS: Upgraded to Unlimited.
     • Monthly Fee: The updated plan is RM79/month and comes with significantly more value, including 300GB data and unlimited calls and SMS.
     If you are on Pocket WiFi Pro 98 (RM98): You will be updated to Maxis Postpaid 89 (RM89).
     • Data Upgrade: Your monthly 15GB data will be upgraded to Unlimited Data.
     • Calls & SMS: Upgraded to Unlimited.
     • Monthly Fee: You will enjoy RM9 in monthly savings, giving you even better value at a lower price!

  2. When will this change happen?
     Your plan will automatically update to Maxis Postpaid by 16/07/2026. No action is needed from you
  3. Can I keep my current plan?
     No. Your current plan is being discontinued. All affected customers will be auto-upgraded to Maxis Postpaid, or you may choose another active plan based on your preference before or after plan update.

  5. Is there extra cost for this update?
     For Pocket WiFi 78: Your monthly commitment fee will be RM79, which is just RM1 more than your current plan. With this update, you will enjoy significantly better value on your new Maxis Postpaid 79 plan.
     For Pocket WiFi Pro 98: Your monthly commitment fee will be RM89, so you will enjoy RM9 savings every month on your new Maxis Postpaid 89 plan.
  6. Does Maxis Postpaid comes with Roam Like Home features?
     No. However, you can purchase affordable Maxis Roaming passes with Maxis Postpaid plans.
     Important Notes
     • If you have call forwarding or voicemail enabled, any calls forwarded to another number or to your voicemail will be charged as received calls while roaming.
     • To avoid unexpected charges, we recommend turning off voicemail and call forwarding before you roam.
     • If you do not wish to use roaming services, simply go to the Maxis app > Add-ons > Roaming > untick to disable the service and avoid unexpected charges.

• Process & Confirmation

  1. How will I know my plan changed successfully?
     You'll receive an SMS confirmation to your can-be-reached number after the update.
  2. Will my mobile number or SIM change?
     No. Only your plan updates - your number and SIM remain unchanged.

  9. Can I choose a different plan?
     Yes! Switch to any Maxis Postpaid, Hotlink Postpaid, or Family Plan anytime via:
     1. Maxis app
     2. Maxis Centre
     3. Customer Service (123)
  10. Are data-only plans available?
      You can sign up new Maxis Home WiFi plans offers 5G/4G data only SIM card for superfast WiFi connection

• Rebate & Changes

  11. Is there a contract?
      No. Maxis Postpaid 79/89 has no lock-in period - you can change plans anytime.
  12. Can I revert to my old plan later?
      No. Discontinued plans aren't available. You may choose other current plans if Maxis Postpaid 79/ 89 doesn't suit you.
