Frequently Asked Questions

Decommissioning of Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS)

  • We're discontinuing MMS as part of our network modernization efforts. We've observed a significant shift in how customers share multimedia content, with most now preferring internet-based messaging applications that offer enhanced functionality. This change allows us to focus our resources on improving services that better meet our customers' evolving communication needs.

  • The MMS service will be completely discontinued effective 15 March 2026. After this date, you will no longer be able to send or receive MMS messages.

  • You can use popular messaging applications like WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook Messenger, or Instagram Direct Messages. These platforms offer superior quality, larger file sizes, and additional features compared to traditional MMS. Most of these apps work with your existing data plan or over WiFi connections.

  • After 15 March 2026, any attempts to send MMS will not be processed. You may receive an error message indicating the service is unavailable. We recommend transitioning to alternative messaging platforms well before the discontinuation date to ensure uninterrupted communication.
