At Maxis, we’re constantly working to improve your internet experience by upgrading Malaysia’s broadband infrastructure. As part of this transition, copper-based internet services will be fully phased out by 30 June 2026 to enable a faster, more reliable fibre network.
How will you know if you are impacted?
If your service is affected, we will notify you via phone, SMS, and email with details of your complimentary upgrade to our advanced Fibre‑to‑the‑Home (FTTH) network.
Why this upgrade is important?
To ensure your internet service continues without interruption, your existing copper-based service needs to be upgraded to fibre before 30 June 2026.

Important note!
To help you enjoy uninterrupted service, we encourage you to upgrade as soon as possible, before 30 June 2026. Once copper services are phased out, restoring your current service may no longer be possible.

- Wait for a call from a Maxis representative at 123 [for Maxis mobile number) or 0328594400 (for other service providers] to arrange your appointment, or
- Contact us directly via:
- Business Fibre: 1800‑82‑1919
- Home Fibre: 123 (from your Maxis mobile line) or 1800‑82‑1123 (from any fixed or mobile line), or

Maxis is upgrading affected customers from copper-based internet services to the advanced Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) network as part of ongoing efforts to modernise broadband infrastructure and improve internet connectivity.

Your current internet service uses copper‑based technology, which is older and no longer able to support today’s needs such as streaming, video calls, online work, and smart devices. Fibre internet is faster, more stable, and more reliable, making it better suited for modern usage.
To continue enjoying uninterrupted internet service, customers will need to upgrade from copper to fibre before the copper network is fully switched off.

If you do not upgrade before copper services are phased out, your current service may be interrupted, and restoring your existing copper-based service may no longer be possible.

No. If your current service is impacted, Maxis will offer free standard installation to upgrade you to the FTTH network at no additional cost.
However, if you require non-standard installation such as hidden cabling, charges will apply. You will liaise directly with the contractor on your requirement and charges.
