Pay with Maxis – General

  • “Pay with Maxis” (also called Direct Carrier Billing or DCB) lets you charge app purchases, digital content, subscriptions, and more directly to your Maxis bill — no credit card needed!

  • To start:

    When making your first 'Pay with Maxis' purchase, you will typically select 'Maxis Billing' or 'Direct Carrier Billing' as your payment method within the app store

    • Apple App Store,
    • Google Play Store, or
    • Huawei App Gallery

    During this initial setup, your device must be connected to the Maxis network for authentication. Once successfully authenticated, you can then complete your purchase. Subsequent purchases can be made via WiFi or the Maxis mobile network.

  • Your 'Pay with Maxis' purchases will appear as a dedicated section “Digital Purchase” in your monthly Maxis bill. You can view your detailed bill via the Maxis app or Maxis Care Portal to review these charges.

  • Maxis only provides the payment service for your subscriptions. To check, manage, or cancel your active subscriptions, you will need to do so directly through the respective app store (Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Huawei App Gallery) or the content provider's platform where you initiated the subscription.

  • There is a monthly spending cap called the Digital Spend Limit: For Postpaid lines 4 months or older: RM250 (can increase up to 80% of your credit limit via Maxis app). For lines under 4 months: Fixed RM80/month limit (cannot be changed). Limits may change from time to time, with updates reflected here.

  • Yes, if your line is 4 months or older, you can increase or decrease your limit through: Maxis app, Maxis Care Portal. For newer lines (<4 months), the RM80 limit is fixed. Here’s a helpful video on managing your spend limit.

  • You won’t be able to make more Pay with Maxis purchases until your limit resets at your next billing cycle. If eligible, you can increase your limit via the Maxis app to continue purchasing.

  • No. Refunds will not increase or restore your spend limit for the current month.

  • The service is available to all Maxis Postpaid and Prepaid customers. However, “Pay with Maxis” is not available for mobile lines under Corporate and Wireless Broadband services.

  • No, “Pay with Maxis” only allows purchases in Ringgit Malaysia (MYR).

  • Prices include an 8% Service Tax (SST) on digital services—no extra tax will appear on your bill. Purchases are not subject to the 6% Sales and Service Tax (SST).

  • You can manage your spending by adjusting your spend limit and monitoring your subscriptions. Here are helpful resources: Managing Spending for Apple Store, Managing Spending for Google Play.

  • Your service may be barred temporarily: If barred for exceeding credit limit and you’ve made a Promise to Pay (PTP), Pay with Maxis is blocked until you settle payments. If barred for overdue payment but still within credit limit, Pay with Maxis should still work.

  • For any issues—billing errors, duplicate charges, subscription management—contact the app store or content provider directly. Maxis only provides the payment service and does not manage subscriptions or content. Manage or cancel subscriptions through the app store or provider.
