Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18 (Retired Service)

This service was discontinued for new sign-ups on 20 November 2024. These FAQs apply only to existing customers.

About the Service

  • A secondary service that enabled cellular connectivity for compatible smartwatches (e.g., Apple Watch GPS + Cellular, Samsung Galaxy Watch LTE). It allowed users to:

    • Share their mobile number, calls, SMS, and data with their smartwatch.
    • Use the watch independently of their phone.
  •  The monthly subscription fee for Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18 is RM18/month (no longer available for new subscriptions).

  • Data is shared from your Maxis Postpaid principal or supplementary line

  • No. There was no contract if you just signed up with Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18. You would be contracted if you purchased a Smart Watch with Zerolution on Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18.

  • No, international roaming is not enabled for Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18. You can use your Smart Watch in Bluetooth mode when roaming.


    Device Compatibility

  • Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18 can be used by:

    • Apple Watch with cellular with OS 6.1.1 (and above) which pair with iPhone compatible with iOS 13.3 and above
    • Samsung Galaxy Watch LTE which pairs with Samsung smartphones with Android 5.0 and above
  • All customers below were eligible to activate one (1) Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18 as a secondary service:

    • Maxis Postpaid 98/108/128/158/188/248/368
    • Maxis Postpaid Share 48 (Supplementary)
    • Maxis Family Plan 299/399/499
    • Maxis Family Plan Member and Additional Member 48


    Setup and Activation

  • For Apple Watch:  Required iPhone is on iOS 13.3 and Apple Watch on WatchOS 6.1.1.  and network setting on MyMaxis and network provider bundle is Maxis 40.1 and above (on your iPhone, go to Settings/ General/ About, scroll to Network for details).

    For Samsung Galaxy Watch: Activated via  the Smart Watch companion app on your smartphone and follow through the step-by-step guide on Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18 activation.

    Apple Watch: Required iPhone on iOS 13.3+ and MyMaxis network settings.

    Samsung Galaxy Watch: Required Android on 5.0 and above and MyMaxis network settings.

  • To ensure that you are pairing with your selected number, just turn off the network for mobile line which you do not wish to pair your Smart Watch and proceed to perform pairing for your Smart Watch and smartphone like normal.

  •  If you have an existing active Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18 subscription, you do not need to sign up and activate the plan on your new phone; just pair your Galaxy Watch with your new smartphone to continue enjoying the benefits of Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18.


    Changes and Transitions

  • If you change your mobile number, your Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18 plan will be automatically deactivated because watch plans are linked to specific mobile numbers. To link your smartphone to your new mobile number, you'll need to subscribe to the current Maxis Connect Watch plan.

  • If you have an existing active Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18 subscription, you do not need to sign up and activate the plan on your new phone; just pair your Smart Watch with your new smartphone to continue enjoying the benefits of Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18.

  • You will need to subscribe to the latest Maxis Connect Watch plan with your new mobile line and proceed using your watch as usual.

    If you do not wish to use your Smart Watch with your previously paired mobile line, please contact us to terminate your Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18 plan that's tagged to the line.

  • Your Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18 service can only be activated for one (1) Smart Watch at a time. If you wish to change to a new Smart Watch, please contact us to to terminate the service for your previous watch. After that, you are free to activate the service for your new watch on the current Maxis Connect Watch plan.

  • Your Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18 plan will be terminated.

  • If your mobile line is suspended, your Maxis Postpaid Watch Connect 18 service will also be suspended.
