Maxis Yearly Upgrade Program

  • The Maxis Yearly Upgrade Program allows eligible Maxis Postpaid customers to upgrade their eligible mobile device to a new participating device 12 months before their current commitment period ends at no additional cost*. You can trade in your current device and upgrade without paying the remaining balance on your current device instalment.

    Note:
    You may still have to pay for your current instalment for your current phone due to bill cycle, hence there may be 2 device instalments charged to your bill.

    This is a one-time overlap due to your billing cycle. From the next bill onwards, you’ll only be charged for your new device instalment.  

    Example:

    • Contract start date: 2nd October 2024
    • Yearly Upgrade date: 8th October 2025 (when you performed upgrade)
    • Bill Cycle: 14th of the month

  • Offer will be available from 13th November 2025 until further notice.

  • You must be subscribed to one of these Maxis Postpaid plans:

    • Maxis Postpaid Plan 139, 169, or 199
    • Maxis Unlimited Postpaid 139, 169, or 199
  • You can upgrade to one of the following latest devices:

    • iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max

    With any of these eligible contracted devices:

    • iPhone 16 series (if purchased before 12th September 2025)
    • iPhone 15 series (if purchased before 29th September 2024)
  • You must be:

    • Be at least 18 years old
    • Be subscribed to a Maxis Postpaid Principal plan
    • Have an eligible device under a Normal Contract, Zerolution 24-month or 36-month instalment
    • Have no outstanding payments with Maxis
    • Not be a commercial or bulk user
    • Upgrade to Maxis Postpaid 139 or above
    • Trade in your good working current contracted eligible device
    • Take a new device with Maxis Zerolution 24-month or 36-months with any of the latest participating devices
    • If you have a Zerolution 24-month: after 12 months from the date of purchase.
    • If you have a Zerolution 36-month: after 24 months from the date of purchase.
  • You must:

    1. Trade in your current device (which must meet the conditions below) at a Maxis Centre.
    2. Upgrade to a qualifying Maxis Postpaid 139 plan or above (if not already on one).
    3. Purchase a new latest eligible device on a Zerolution Plan.

    These steps must be completed in a single transaction on the same day; therefore, please be prepared to hand in your current device.

  • Your device must:

    • Be fully functional with all hardware and software working properly.
    • Have no deep scratches, cracks, dents, or major physical damage on the screen or body.
    • Not be jailbroken, modified, or tampered with.
    • Show no signs of liquid damage or corrosion.

    Maxis will inspect the device and has the final say on whether it meets these conditions.

  • If your device fails inspection, Maxis may reject it. In this case, you might have to pay additional charges to proceed with the upgrade or you may finish off your current commitment and upgrade your device upon commitment expiration.

  • If you fulfil all the criteria mentioned in Question 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, then there will be no charges for Yearly Upgrade. However, you are responsible for all charges related to your new device and plan. These charges are exclusive of applicable taxes (like SST), which will be added to your bill.

  • After upgrading, you cannot:

    • Terminate or suspend your new plan.
    • Downgrade your plan.
    • Transfer ownership of the new device to another person.
    • Transfer ownership of your plan to another person.

    If you do any of these, you will subject to Early Termination Charges for your Zerolution.

  • No. The Maxis Yearly Upgrade Program cannot be used with other ongoing offers, discounts, rebates, or privileges unless specifically allowed by Maxis.

  • You are not eligible for the program if you have any unpaid bills with Maxis. If you meet other criteria, just pay your outstanding to proceed. 

  • No. The program is only for individual users and not for commercial or bulk subscribers.

  • Your current commitment will be terminated as part of the Yearly Upgrade process, your termination fee will be knocked off by your traded-in device’s value. A new commitment will be activated for your new Mobile Device, which will include device charges according to the device offering and plan.

  • No. The program benefits are not exchangeable for cash and can only be used for the device upgrade.

  • Yearly Upgrade with Trade-in
    With your device being in good working condition, you will receive an elevated trade-in value (when market value is lower than your termination fee) which would be sufficient to cover your device termination fee allowing you to upgrade your current device to the latest device with no additional cost.  

    Trade-in
    Your device’s value follows the market value of the phone and condition where there is no certainty that your trade-in would be sufficient to cover your device termination fee.
