Maxis, through its eKelas Usahawan flagship community programme, is working with the Ex-Servicemen Affairs Corporation (PERHEBAT) on a series of digital marketing workshops to benefit retiring and retired personnel of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).

Through a series of six workshops, the first batch of 725 participants were trained with digital marketing fundamentals and practical skills. The modules include digital marketing and strategy, photography and graphic design, copywriting, and campaign planning.

These workshops aim to enhance their digital literacy and equip them with valuable skills, strengthening their employability and marketability in pursuing opportunities in civilian life.

"We are happy to be working with Maxis to enrich our Resettlement Training programme, or Program Latihan Peralihan, for retiring and retired ATM personnel. This reflects our dedication to providing a wide range of skills to our members, now including digitalisation. Together with Maxis, we are shaping a future where our personnel are well-prepared for civilian workforce integration and can thrive in the digital era,” - Captain Mohd Radzi Mohd Ali RMAF (Rtd), Acting Director General of PERHEBAT

"Maxis’ eKelas Usahawan programme was introduced to help individuals from diverse communities navigate an increasingly digitalised world. This is in line with our firm commitment to build a digitally inclusive society, which is reflected in eKelas Usahawan's mission to generate positive social impact by leveraging the power of technology. Together with PERHEBAT, we look forward to continue contributing meaningfully to the digital empowerment of retiring and retired personnel of ATM," - Mariam Bevi Batcha, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Maxis

PERHEBAT is an enabler for the second career of ATM’s retired personnel, providing them with the necessary training to develop technical, vocational, and entrepreneurial skills to facilitate their transition to civilian life.

Participants found the workshops easy to understand and valued the focus on practical applications, enabling the effective use of new knowledge in their current and future business endeavours.

Mohammad Hazrul Hisham bin Zahari from Kelantan said he feels more confident in starting an online business after attending the workshop. He now understands the importance of basic business experience and maintaining a consistent, organised marketing strategy.

Mohammad Ashabul Yameen, a small food business owner, gained clarity on digital systems and is eager to create social media advertisements for his business. Meanwhile, Vashanthakumari a/p Suppiah enjoyed learning to design online promotions in the photography and digital design workshop.
