Maxis collaborates with Selangor Government on solutions to enable Ramadan e-bazaar

  • Collaborated with Selangor Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) to support the promotion of PLATS, the Selangor State’s e-Bazaar initiative to help SMEs digitalise and operate around the ‘new normal’
  • Provided communication support with 500,000 eSMS to residents in Selangor to promote PLATS
  • Part of Maxis’ support for the Government in easing the burden of SMEs during these unprecedented times

As Muslims in Malaysia observed the holy month of Ramadan in the ‘new normal’ era, Maxis continues to be a committed digital enabler and partner to the Government and SMEs.

Recently, Maxis collaborated with Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI), the Selangor Government’s investment arm, to help promote Platform Selangor (PLATS), an e-Bazaar initiative to aims to help small businesses and bazaar hawkers digitalise and operate during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period. In supporting the platform, Maxis provided communications support via 500,000 eSMS to residents in Selangor over a duration of one month during Ramadan.

“We applaud the Selangor Government’s efforts in helping businesses thrive especially in these difficult circumstances through the innovative PLATS. With SMEs being such an important pillar of growth to the country, it was critical that they are enabled by technology to become more agile and adaptable in order to keep their businesses running particularly in these extraordinary times. With our humble contribution, we hope that it provided the added convenience to business owners in Selangor, and that it brought the atmosphere and tradition of Ramadan bazaar into homes,” said Mariam Bevi Batcha, Maxis’ Chief Corporate Affairs Officer.

Maxis today announced that Raja Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Arshad bin Raja Tun Uda has decided to step down as Chairman of the Board of Maxis Berhad (Maxis) effective 22 April 2021, upon conclusion of the Company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). Raja Tan Sri Arshad served as Chairman of Maxis since its listing on Bursa Malaysia in 2009.
