Maxis Volunteers Come Together To Provide Relief To Communities Affected By Penang Floods
In light of the recent floods in Penang, Maxis employees from its Northern region office came together to volunteer their assistance with flood relief works. As part of the relief efforts, Maxis volunteers visited SMK Dato’ Haji Ahmad Said at Sungai Dua, Tasek Gelugor in Seberang Prai, to help clean up the mud and debris in the school’s premises. The school’s principal, teachers, and students also joined the volunteers to assist with the clean-up. Maxis also deployed charging pots at a relief centre located in Tasek Gelugor to help customers stay connected.
“This year’s flood was worse than usual, and I’m thankful to Maxis for being the first organisation to come and monitor the situation and provide us with the necessary help,” said Norliza Mustafa, Principal of SMK Dato’ Haji Ahmad Said.
“When we heard about the flood situation in Penang, we immediately knew we had to provide support to the affected communities. Aside from helping people stay connected and providing support to our employees and dealers, I’m pleased that our volunteers came together to help with the flood relief works,” said Mervyn Lim, Maxis’ Head of Northern Region.
Additionally, Maxis also extended assistance by providing hotline support as part of the #PenangBangkit relief programme.
