Catch The Wknd Sessions Live With Hotlink At Selected Cities Nationwide!

Following its successful launch during Cooler Lumpur Festival held on 12 June at Publika, The Wknd Sessions Live (TWSL) will now make its way to several locations nationwide, featuring performances by noteworthy independent Malaysian acts at various venues. The next TWSL show will be held in Ipoh at Insider Space on 15 August, with performances from SOFT, Molly Dolly and Muck.

TWSL will also make stops in Johor Bahru and Kuching, and return back to KL for its final show on 9 October 2015. To find out the dates and full list of performers for the TWSL shows, please visit www.hotlink.com.my.

The Wknd and Hotlink have also launched The Wknd Recording Fund (TWRF), which is structured to function as a platform for new Malaysian musicians to record, produce, release and market their recorded material. The winner will walk away with a professionally recorded single and an opportunity to perform for a live audience at the final TWSL event, together with the headliners of the final show. During the TWSL shows, Hotlink will also provide facilities for budding musicians with original material to record their submissions to TWRF.

Hotlink will be contributing a special cash prize of RM10,000 to the winner, RM3,000 to the first runner-up and RM2,000 to the second runner-up as funds to continue their efforts in developing their craft.

“We’re excited to be working with The Wknd on TWRF & TWSL to help re-energise the independent local music scene and discover new talents. Music and Hotlink has always gone hand in hand, and we are continuing to lead the way in finding and nurturing budding talents, first with Akademi Fantasia and now through this partnership with The Wknd. We look forward to listening to original submissions by up-and-coming musicians and finally seeing them hit the stage at the final TWSL gig. Also, keep a close eye as we will have more announcements in the local music space soon,” said Navin Manian, Maxis’ Head of Prepaid, Consumer Business.Customers also have a chance to win a pair of front row tickets to their preferred TWSL show, by just doing the following:

Download the Hotlink RED App at www.hotlink.com.my/red
Log into the RED App, go to “Feedback” and select “Live.Life.Loud”

The first 12 customers to submit their interest will get a pair of tickets. The contest ends on 9 October.

A collaborative effort between The Wknd and Hotlink, TWSL is focused on showcasing some of the best independent musical talent Malaysia has to offer. Each TWSL event will feature two artistes, with each act performing a 45-minute set in an intimate setting, all recorded in high definition and featuring The Wknd's signature sonic imprint. Videos of each event will subsequently be made available on http://www.the-wknd.com or the Hotlink RED App for viewing.
