A Thrilling Experience For Maxis Customers At iPhone 6 Midnight Express

The first ever Maxis’ Midnight Express™ saw Maxis employees including CEO Morten Lundal and Maxis Management Team personally delivering iPhones to its customers around the country from midnight. Maxis is the first telco in the country where its employees are personally delivering brand new iPhones at the stroke of midnight. About 200 randomly selected customers who pre-ordered the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus via the Maxis Online Store from 31 October onwards were offered the Maxis Midnight Express™ delivery service, to wherever they were.

Maxis customer Alvin Lim Tao Keong was in Kota Damansara hanging out with his friends around midnight when he got his iPhone 6 delivered by Adzhar Ibrahim, Maxis’ Head of People & Organisation. “I was really excited when I got the call about the midnight express earlier but didn’t expect them to show up to deliver my phone!”

Meanwhile Sulin Lau, Maxis’ Head of Marketing Services, personally delivered the iPhone 6 to Joe Liong, a first time iPhone user. “I can’t believe Maxis came all the way up to Genting Highlands with my iPhone 6 in the middle of the night. They made it here even though their car broke down and they had to hitchhike.”

Other customers who also pre-ordered their devices via the Maxis Online Store were able to self-collect at six Maxis Centres nationwide, namely KLCC, Johor Bahru, Penang, Kuantan, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching, between midnight and 4.00 am today.

“Our Midnight Express™ underlines our constant ambition of giving customers an unmatched experience. For us, there’s nothing like seeing the joy on the faces of our customers, and we realized that being the first to own an iconic iPhone such as the 6 makes them feel special. So we are thrilled that we were able to personally deliver the iPhones to them tonight. Meanwhile, customers who collected their phones from our Maxis Centres around the country were able to get them quickly and seamlessly, instead of waiting in long lines. This reflects our serious aspirations of putting a smile on our customers’ faces,” said Dushyan Vaithiyanathan, Maxis’ Head of Consumer Business.

The devices will be then available for walk-in customers at all Maxis Centres and Maxis Exclusive Partners (MEPs) across the country at normal operating hours.

Celcom Axiata Bhd (“Celcom”), Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (“Digi”), and Maxis Berhad (“Maxis”) announced that they have concluded a Definitive Agreement to jointly develop and share fibre infrastructure, allowing for faster and more efficient deployment of fibre backhaul to base stations and avoiding duplication of fibre infrastructure in the country. This collaboration will enable improved widespread of 4G connectivity to all Malaysians and increase the country’s fibre infrastructure in line with ambitions under the National Digital Infrastructure Plan (JENDELA), as well as preparing for tower infrastructure for a 5G future.
