schedule 22 Apr 2019

Following its immensely successful Fibrenation campaign in August last year, Maxis continues to elevate its fibre broadband experience with three new superfast Internet speeds – 300Mbps, 500Mbps and 800Mbps – available for both consumer and businesses from today, on top of the existing 30Mbps and 100Mbps plans. Beyond the new speeds, Maxis also wants to ensure that customers enjoy a better WiFi experience with its latest fibre offerings, built for each customers’ needs depending on their home or office size and if they are a heavy or light Internet users.

As such, plans can be paired with a mesh WiFi device for improved coverage and strong WiFi signals in every room in the home or office. Mesh WiFi is scalable and can be customised in terms of placement around the home or office, so that WiFi experiences can be built for different needs. Customers who take up the 500Mbps and 800Mbps home fibre plans will enjoy two free mesh WiFi devices each, while all three new business fibre plans come with two mesh devices each, as well as Internet security to protect against phishing sites and malware. The better WiFi experience will also come with a free installation by Maxperts who will ensure the WiFi is optimised to build a better WiFi experience for all Malaysian homes and businesses.

With the new speed plans, customers can now choose from an expanded range of affordable home and business packages, as detailed in the tables below:

“Last year, we were on a mission to make fibre accessible to everyone with our Fibrenation campaign. Today, this mission continues with not just our expanded offering of superfast fibre speeds, but importantly, to deliver a better WiFi experience for our customers. We live in a world where high speed connectivity is expected, due to the multitude of digital content and services that we are already consuming. So our commitment to our customers is to show them how these fantastic new speeds can be optimised with the right services and solutions,” said Dushyan Vaithiyanathan, Maxis Head of Consumer Business.

To complement these speeds, Maxis also introduced ONEBusiness Voice, a plan that converts businesses’ fixed voice to a cloud-based multi-line IP voice. ONEBusiness Voice also comes with an affordable voice package with free calls and free hardware (bundled analog telephone adapter and office phone), helping companies save up to 40% on office phone bills and reduce costs of hardware such as PABX. ONEBusiness Voice is highly beneficial as the new speeds will also support businesses with growing staff numbers, as well as cater to their increasing needs for complex applications, backed by reliability with zero downtime with an ‘Always On’ wireless 4G backup

“High speed connectivity, security, and cost efficiency – these are three important factors that are becoming increasingly vital to business continuity and growth. Our new business fibre offering with superfast speeds is timely, especially with the increasing use of more advanced technologies and cloud-based services. The new fibre speeds are a key factor in providing businesses with the best VoIP experience, so it is a perfect match for our new voice plan that we have introduced today, ensuring business customers enjoy future proof connectivity while saving costs,” said Paul McManus, Maxis Head of Enterprise.
