Maxis Berhad (“Maxis”), the only integrated communications service provider in Malaysia, was once again recognised as one of the most trusted brands in the region when it received the Platinum Award at the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand 2013 Awards in the Phone & Broadband Service category. YM Raja Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Arshad Raja Tun Uda, Chairman of Maxis, accepted the award from YB Dato’ Sri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Minister of Communications and Multimedia at a special ceremony which was held recently at Mandarin Oriental. This win marked the sixth time Maxis has received a Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand Award, having previously won the award in 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007 and 2005.
Commenting on Maxis’ win, Suren J Amarasekera, Maxis’ Joint Chief Operating Officer said, “Maxis is humbled to receive the prestigious Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Platinum Award, which was voted by customers. The Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands survey is the premier consumer-based, international measure of brand preference. It seeks to identify which brands consumers in Asia trust, and to provide an objective and reliable reference for consumers throughout the region. The survey was conducted in seven markets across Asia namely Malaysia, Hong Kong, India, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. The Platinum Trusted Brand Award is reserved for brands with scores three times or more that of the nearest competitor and are ranked at the top of their respective categories.
In addition to its win at the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brand 2013 Awards, Maxis has received numerous other recognitions for its brand such as the People’s Choice Putra Brand Icon at the 2013 Putra Brand Awards. It was also named one of Malaysia’s Most Valuable Brands in 2012 and also received The BrandLaureate Award 2011-2012, considered to be the ‘Grammy Awards’ for Branding, in the Best Brands Category for Telecommunications.
