Bloggers Get Pumped Up At Inaugural Maxis 4G Bloggers Blaze
39 lifestyle and tech bloggers from the Klang Valley participated in inaugural Maxis 4G Bloggers Blaze
Participants, in groups of four, undertook various challenges requiring speed and high energy
Organised by Maxis to showcase speed and coverage of Malaysia's first 4G LTE network
Speed, adrenaline and high energy were the order of the day for 39 lifestyle and technology bloggers who rolled out of bed bright and early on a Sunday to participate in the inaugural Maxis 4G Bloggers Blaze. Organised by Maxis Berhad (Maxis) to showcase the speed and coverage of its 4G LTE network, the 'Amazing Race'-styled event saw the bloggers criss-crossing the Klang Valley to complete a variety of challenges such as wall climbing and go-kart racing.
Prior to the flag off, the participants were divided into teams of four and went by team names which denote speed, such as Team Jaguar, Team Cheetah and Team Barracuda. At each check point, the participants were required to either take photos or videos of their team members carrying out the challenges, and sending it across to the designated game marshal or uploading it to Facebook using the 4G LTE-enabled device provided. They also used the device to scan QR codes to reveal clues which then provided them with the location of their next challenge. Throughout the day, they were also encouraged to post updates on their personal social media accounts using the hashtag #Maxis4GBloggersBlaze.
In the end, following a refreshing but no less adrenaline-pumping final challenge in the form of a watermelon eating contest, Team Stallion and Team Leopard emerged victorious as they snagged the top two winning spots respectively. Members of Team Stallion comprising Rebecca Saw (rebeccasaw.com), Joel Wong (leonhart90.blogspot.com), Charmaine Pua (tallpiscesgirl.com) and Rawlins Una (byrawlins.com) took home a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and a 4G LTE Mobile Wifi modem (MiFi), while Team Leopard which was made up of Budiey (budiey.com), Tengku Nur Raihan (penmerah.com), Henry Lee (clevermunkey.com) and Kifli Mally (kiflimally.com) won themselves a mini iPad and a 4G LTE Mobile Wifi modem (MiFi), - all 4G LTE-enabled devices, which would allow them to continue to enjoy Maxis' 4G LTE services.
Celcom Axiata Bhd (Celcom) and Maxis Berhad (Maxis) successfully conducted Southeast Asia’s first 5G Multi Operator Core Network (MOCN) trial, achieving peak speeds of more than 1.1Gbps in an outdoor environment at trial sites in Langkawi, Kedah.
