Maxis’ Regional Internet Hub was officiated today by Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Sarawak, Yang Berhormat Datuk Hj. Julaihi bin Hj. Narawi.

The new Regional Internet Hub located at Maxis’ Technical Operations Centre in Kuching, is an important network investment to improve customer Internet experience and caters to the high data volume as well as anticipated volume growth.

Maxis had earlier announced that it was the first telco to build the Regional Internet Hub in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu and with direct international content connectivity. Since it was built, 58% of the mobile traffic in East Malaysia has been successfully localised on the regional hub, contributed by top content delivery networks such as Facebook, Google, Akamai and Netflix.
