Kuala Lumpur, 28 August 2013
Maxis Berhad (Maxis), Malaysia’s only integrated communications service provider, announced in June this year that it is undertaking an exercise to refine its organisation structure to make it more agile and cohesive in delivering its integrated propositions, as well as support its growth strategies. In the first phase of the organisational refinement exercise, Maxis streamlined its operations into four core areas of Consumer Business, Enterprise Solutions, Digital Services and Sales & Services. Since then, the exercise has been progressing well and expected to complete in September this year.
As part of its organisational refinement exercise, Maxis today announced that it has offered a Career Transition Scheme to selected employees whose roles are impacted.
Nasution Mohamed, Joint Chief Operating Officer (JCOO), Maxis said, “Arising from this refinement exercise, there will be roles in the Company that will be impacted. The scheme has therefore been offered as it provides an opportunity for both the employees as well as the Company to obtain mutual benefit. This will allow us to align employee skill sets with our business priorities and for the employees who decide to take up the scheme to pursue other interests."
“We are committed to conducting this scheme with care and empathy by offering terms and conditions which are fair and attractive to our employees. As we continue to refine our structure, we will ensure that our customers’ needs are being taken care of and we remain fully committed to enriching our customers’ lives.”
Career Transition begins when an individual’s employment ends with one company and the transition is over when the individual achieves either re-employment with another organisation, self-employment, or retirement. Career Transition services are designed to help the staff during the transition time from one position to the next. This assistance will include current career and job search information and individual consultation to help the staff successfully manage the Career Transition period.
“The refinement of the structure is in response to evolving market dynamics and aimed at better serving the changing needs of customers. This will enable Maxis to compete more effectively in the market by significantly improving our service delivery through a “fit for purpose structure,” emphasised Suren J. Amarasekera, JCOO, Maxis.
Throughout the exercise, Maxis will activate Help Desks, including a toll-free Helpline from 9.00 a.m.to 6.00 p.m. to assist staff.
The company targets to complete the scheme in September 2013.
