Maxis Expands 4G Network In Sabah, Upgrades MaxisONE Plan With 10GB Additional Data


Maxis continues to expand its 4G network to even more locations beyond key towns in Sabah. Customers in the towns of Papar, Kimanis, Beaufort, Felda Sahabat, Balung, Sipitang, Kota Belud, Kudat, Kota Marudu, Ranau, Keningau, Semporna, Labuan, Pulau Gaya, Pulau Mantananni, Pulai Mabol and Pulau Kapalai can now enjoy superfast 4G speeds on their mobile phones for surfing and streaming. This means more Sabahans are enjoying the best data experience on Maxis’ No. 1 4G LTE network, which has now reached 89% of the population.

“Our priority is to continue to deliver a great Internet experience through our No. 1 4G network and worry-free products. We’re also continuously enhancing our customers’ experience, which includes expanding our retail and online presence,” said Ng Chak Khin, Maxis’ Head of Sabah Region.

On the products side, Maxis recently upgraded all its MaxisONE plan customers with 10GB of data to share, which can be used every day - with more data to share. MaxisONE Home Fibre was also officially launched earlier this year in East Malaysia, which offers superfast home Internet speeds of up to 100Mbps, unlimited data, voice calls and professional Wi-Fi setup.

For prepaid, Hotlink FAST was introduced in East Malaysia in June this year, offering customers free 8GB of 4G Internet every weekend each month, 1,000 min of free calls to Friendz and free 30GB of Hotlink Happy Hour. Hotlink customers can also enjoy 999GB of free fast Facebook every day.

And exclusive for East Malaysia customers, Hotlink recently teamed up with Grab to launch the Hotlink FAST Track GrabRewards promotion. From 11 to 24 December, all Maxis and Hotlink customers can also earn 4x times GrabRewards Points for each ride in Sabah and Sarawak when they enter unique promo code for their next Grab ride. For Hotlink customers, they can get their promo code at while Maxis customers can get their promo code from MyMaxis App under the Deals tab.

In addition to launching new products and services, Maxis also continues to expand its retail footprint in Sabah to better serve customers. Maxis launches three new scholarships in building future technology and innovation leaders

In its commitment to building tech-savvy and forward-thinking leaders, Maxis has launched three new scholarships to support the aspirations of bright and deserving young individuals. Candidates can apply for the Maxis Women in Tech Undergraduate 2020 Scholarship, Maxis Tech Undergraduate 2020 Scholarship and the Maxis Young Leaders Undergraduate 2020 Scholarship. Due to the overwhelming response received from applicants, the initial submission deadline of 31 August has now been extended to 14 September to allow more students to apply.
