Between 2014 and 2015, 3G traffic grew by 55% in both states, and customers with 4G access are consuming 20% more mobile Internet compared to those in Peninsular Malaysia. Data usage for 4G users in these states is also higher with an average of over 3GB per month. We are putting in a lot of investments to strengthen our network infrastructure here so that our customers can get a fantastic 4G experience on their mobile phones,” said Morten Bangsgaard, Maxis CTO.
To date, Maxis has 4G coverage of more than 90% in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu, and more than 80% in secondary and tertiary towns.
