Maxis Empowers Nation To 'Share The Light' This Deepavali

schedule 09 Oct 2014

This Deepavali, Maxis is teaming up with LINE to empower Malaysians to donate digitally in the spirit of the upcoming festive season. The public just needs to view “Share The Light” video and download free Deepavali stickers from LINE. For every single download, Maxis will donate RM1 to 10 selected children’s homes around the country. The campaign will run until 31 October 2014. After the campaign ends, another set of free LINE stickers will be given as a sign of appreciation to all participating Maxis and Hotlink customers.

Here are few simple steps for the opportunity to be part of this campaign:

Watch and Share the specially made YouTube video at  or
Download the LINE Deepavali stickers (new users will have to download and register for LINE before they can download the sticker)
The campaign is not limited to Maxis customers only. More than 10 million LINE users will be informed and urged to be a part of this “Share The Light” programme.

As part of this campaign, Maxis produced a short video by interviewing the children in various homes to find out their Deepavali wishes.

“Often, people want to do their bit for charity but are constrained by time and resources. For the upcoming Deepavali festive season, we are making it easier for our customers to do this by going digital. It is a simple gesture on our part to create awareness and at the same time brighten up the lives of the less fortunate children around the country. We hope to get as many people sharing these stickers so that we can make a positive impact to the lives of those who truly need it,” said CK Koay, Maxis’ Head of Customer Management.

There are also attractive prizes to be won when users share the video via LINE. 10 Maxis or Hotlink customers will get a 50cm Limited Edition LINE Head Doll worth RM500 each, while 90 winners will get a pair of 18cm LINE Doll worth RM120 each. Winners will be based on the most number of shares on the video via LINE timeline and chats.
