Maxis calls on Malaysians to donate devices to support digital learning as part of #MYBaikHati campaign
  • #MYBaikHati is a device crowdsourcing campaign to collect used laptops, tablets and/or 4G smartphones for digital learning and daily needs of B40 communities
  • The public can be part of this initiative by dropping off used devices at 10 Maxis Centres nationwide
  • Maxis committed to providing greater access to basic technology for the community and equal opportunity to reap the benefits of an increasingly digital world

Thinking about finding a new home for your used or old devices? Well, here’s your chance to donate them for a good cause to benefit those who need them the most. Maxis is rallying its employees, customers and the public to contribute their pre-loved laptops, tablets and/or 4G smartphones as part of the #MYBaikHati drive, to help narrow the digital learning gap in Malaysia. All you need to do is drop off your devices at 10 Maxis Centres across the Klang Valley, Penang, Ipoh, and Johor Bahru.

“Maxis strives to provide better access to basic technology for learning and day-to-day needs especially for families who don’t have the means to purchase new devices. Digital inclusion is important to us and we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to reap the benefits of an increasingly digital world, and to always be ahead. We are proud to be part of this noble effort and we urge everyone to come together to put a device in the hands of those in need,” said Mariam Bevi Batcha, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Maxis.

Here’s what you need to do and know:

  1. Find any used/old devices that you no longer need. They can be laptops, tablets or 4G smartphones. You can even donate a new device if you wish to.
  2. Drop off your device(s) at any of these Maxis Centres:
    Central Northern Southern
    Maxis Centre KLCC
    Maxis Centre TTDI
    Maxis Centre Nu Sentral
    Maxis Centre Cheras
    Maxis Centre iCity Shah Alam
    Maxis Centre Queensbay
    Maxis Centre Prai
    Maxis Centre Ipoh
    Maxis Centre Danga Bay
    Maxis Centre Taman Molek
  3. Donated devices will be assessed to ensure that they are in working order, without any damages, and that they come with a battery and charger.
  4. The devices will be refurbished and reset to factory settings, before delivery to identified families through a partner NGO.
  5. Devices that do not meet the requirements will be responsibly recycled though our existing eWaste programme.

The public is encouraged to visit https://www.maxis.com.my/en/campaigns/mybaikhati/ for more details on how to donate as well as FAQ for more information.

The #MYBaikHati initiative, which was announced earlier by the Government, is a year-long crowdsourcing programme facilitated by the telecommunications industry. The donated devices will be distributed to students and families in need for their learning and daily needs.
