Bringing Digital Learning To The Community

Maxis eKelas is our flagship community programme which brings digital learning closer to the community by providing free access and quality content to students, especially those from the rural communities. Its focus is on three core subjects - Science, Mathematics and English - from Year 4 up to Form 5. eKelas offers a combination of live tutorials, group learning and interactive digital content which is in line with the Malaysian School Syllabus.

Now in its fifth year, eKelas has more than 50,000 students connecting with us through the eKelas portal As a programme that is recognised by the Ministry of Education (MOE) as an initiative under its Highly Immersive Programme (HIP), we are expanding eKelas into even more school students to benefit from our fun learning content and activities. All are welcome to register for FREE in the portal.

Share about this with your friends to explore a world of fun learning with eKelas together!

Learning in a fun and vibrant way

With eKelas, we want to expose the students to new ways of learning. Besides connecting the students to experienced teachers via live tutorial sessions, the students learn through group projects, videos and competitions. But eKelas is not just about live tutorials, it is also about building the confidence for these students and that is why we have fun and engaging activities such as motivational talks and holiday camps.

We had the first holiday camp for eKelas students in March 2016. 60 excited students travelled to Kuala Lumpur for a two-day, educational and fun-filled camp. We brought them to Petrosains Discovery Centre; Twin Towers observation deck on Level 86; organized a video production workshop with popular tech blogger Amanz, and an up-close-and-personal session with our management team. The students were given hands-on learning experience on science and technology; made their own electrical lanterns from scratch, and each team collaborated to produce a short video which was then judged by Maxis employees.

The second eKelas Holiday Camp, which took place from 21-23 November 2018, saw 100 of the most dedicated eKelas students from 24 Pusat Internet (PIs) nationwide flying into the capital to participate in fun activities, interactive workshops, a visit to Petrosains in KLCC, as well as engagements with teachers and fellow eKelas students from all over the country. As part of Maxis’ partnership with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), this Holiday Camp was run at UKM’s campus for the first two days.
