Finding Success: A Student’s Story

Nur Aishah Sofia Binti Jamila, a Form 4 student from Bukit Besar, Yan, Kedah had her English grade moved up from a C to an A in her final exam. That was a two-grade improvement from what she obtained during her mid-year exam. What gave Aishah the edge?

In January 2017, Aishah joined the Maxis eKelas programme, which provides live tutorial sessions, learning content, motivational workshops and engagement activities – all of which have helped her understand the subject better and to be motivated to do well in her exams. “With eKelas, I have access to concise notes and simple formulas that are easier to understand. My English has improved the most. I also appreciate the Anugerah Gemilang eKelas given by Maxis as it encourages me to work harder and also helps students like me who need financial assistance,” said Aishah.

Aishah was one of the 11 recipients of the Anugerah Gemilang eKelas, awarded to students who improved the most in the three subjects taught in the eKelas programme i.e. Science, Mathematics and English. Each award recipient received a cash contribution which were deposited into their National Education Savings Scheme, as well as a school starter pack.

Aishah’s mother was equally excited to see her daughter engaging and learning more with her fellow eKelas students. “They interact better when they’re using technology. And they have access to more learning tools,” she said
