‘Nasi lemak sebungkus!” “Sudah kaotim, bro!” These are distinctly Malaysian expressions that most of us commonly use in our daily conversations with friends and family. Regardless of our background, age or ethnicity, all of us share one common language that is spoken and understood by all.

In the spirit of Merdeka and celebrating all that is unique about Malaysia, Hotlink has introduced its very own Malaysiamoji, a set of 60 special GIFs that depict recognisable Malaysian expressions, phrases or gestures which are part of our everyday lives. Hotlink is the first in the country to offer GIFs that have Malaysian tags to it, which means that when users search for Malaysian-related keywords, Hotlink’s Malaysiamoji GIFs will be among the top results.

“Malaysia is a melting pot of cultures, but what brings us all together is how we communicate with each other. And since most of us now chat and share on social media, what better way to celebrate all things great about Malaysia this Merdeka than with GIFs that all of us can relate to. Even better, we are now bringing Malaysia to the world by offering these GIFs on international platforms,” said Navin Manian, Maxis’ Head of Prepaid.

Expressions such as ‘muka sepuluh sen’, ‘power of the hand’ and ‘tolong’ are just some of the GIFs that will be part of the Malaysiamoji collection, which will be available on top GIF generator websites. The Malaysiamoji GIFs will be available across all smartphone devices on Facebook, starting from today. To use Malaysiamojis, go to your Facebook comment bar, click GIF and search for #hotlinkmalaysiamoji.
