 Why is Maxis increasing the international SMS rate? We are constantly striving to expand our international operator network for the benefit of our valued customers who wish to communicate with their friends and families all over the world. However, the costs needed to maintain and expand these connections have increased in the last two years. As not to disrupt SMS traffic to international destinations, Maxis has no choice but to increase the rate. Why are the international SMS rates for Thailand, Nepal, Indonesia and Singapore unchanged? Thailand, Nepal, Indonesia and Singapore are the four most popular international SMS destinations and Maxis is able to maintain the cost of sending SMS to these countries. As such, we have decided to keep the rate at RM0.20/SMS for the benefit of the majority of our customers. Will there be any future promotions that provide discounts on international SMS rates? There are currently no plans for any promotions. If this changes however, we will be sure to let you know. |
