Contract extension allows existing customers on a contract to purchase a new iPhone while retaining their existing mobile number. If you are currently under a phone contract with Maxis (iPhone only), then you are eligible for a contract extension*.
A contract extension extends your current contract for either 12 or 24 months depending on how many months is left on your existing contract.
Customers are only allowed a maximum contract period of up to 30 months. To be eligible for a contract extension, your remaining months + your current contract extension request must not exceed a 30 month period.
EXAMPLE OF AN ELIGIBLE CUSTOMER
For instance, if you are on a 12 month contract with 6 months remaining, you can purchase an iPhone 4S by extending the months on your current contract. This is because your new contract period does not exceed 30 months.
E.g. 6 months (remaining contract) + 12 months (contract extension) = 18 months (new contract period)
EXAMPLE OF A NON-ELIGIBLE CUSTOMER
If you have remaining months that will exceed 30 months in total after a contract extension, you are not eligible for a contract extension.
E.g. 19 months (remaining contract) + 12 months (contract extension) = 31 months (new contract period)
