| Maxis iPhone For High Achievers Contest : Terms & Conditions |

| 1. |
The ‘Maxis-The Star SPM contest” ("Contest") is open to all, who are:
| 1.1 |
Residents of Malaysia; and |
| |
| 1.2 |
Students enrolled into the Sijil Penilaian Tinggi (SPM) examination for year 2009. Students below the age of 18 years must obtain parental consent to participate. The parents of the participants (“Parent(s)”) acknowledge and agree that these terms and conditions shall be binding upon them and agree to allow his/her child to participate in this Contest. |

| 2. |
Employees of the Maxis Mobile Services Sdn Bhd ("MMSSB") and the Maxis group of companies, their associated agencies, dealers, distributors, sponsors and immediate families are not allowed to participate in this Contest. |
| |
|
| 3. |
The contest will commence at 12:00am on 12 March 2010 and ends at 11:59pm on 22 March 2010, both dates inclusive ("Contest Period"). |
| |
|
| 4. |
The Contest winners will be selected based on the creativity of the essay they prepare on how the iPhone from Maxis will help them in their further education. The participant and/or parent shall acknowledge and undertake that the essay entry is original, genuine, creative and created by the participant. |
| |
|
| 5. |
A total of 20 winners shall be selected to receive an iPhone from Maxis, the 10 best entries from the child of a Maxis subscriber/or a Maxis subscriber will receive an iPhone 3GS 16GB and the remaining 10 entries will receive an iPhone 3G 8GB. All iPhones will be given with a Hotlink prepaid starter kit. |

| 6. |
Each participant is only eligible to win a maximum of 1 prize during the entire Contest Period. |
| |
|
| 7. |
The 20 winners will be contacted by MMSSB via their mobile phones and their particulars will be posted within seven (7) working days on www.maxis.com.my after the completion of the Contest Period. Participants are encouraged to keep their mobile phones activated during this period. In the event MMSSB is unable to contact a particular winner after attempting to do so for 3 consecutive days, that winner will automatically be disqualified and the next qualified participant will be selected. |

| 8. |
Names/Particulars of all winners will be posted on www.maxis.com.my. By participating in the Contest, the participant expressly consents for his particulars to be posted on www.maxis.com.my or any other medium as MMSSB sees fit for purposes of announcing the winners. |

| 9. |
The following shall apply to participants and/or Parents who are registered with more than 1 Maxis mobile line (including supplementary lines):
| 9.1 |
Participants are eligible to win the Contest prizes using only the lines that register or port in during the Contest Period. The prizes will go to the owner of that particular Maxis mobile line, be it the principal or the supplementary line holder; All participants acknowledge that their details will be verified against their registration particulars for the Contest. |

| 10. |
MMSSB, reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any participant that is found or suspected of tampering with the Contest submission process and/or the operation of this Contest. MMSSB reserves the right to disqualify any participant and/or to forfeit the Contest prize from a participant it believes has undertaken fraudulent or cheating practices and/or activities or other activities harmful to this Contest or the Contest submission process. Fraudulent or cheating activities are deemed to include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Any act of deceit and/or deception and/or cheating;
- Submission of entries by any person other than the participant named in the Contest; and/or
- Submission of entries which are not created by the participant, copied by the participant from any source or material and/or which are wholly or partially an infringement of another party’s intellectual property rights or which is calculated to bring MMSSB into disrepute or breach of contract or duty of confidence or which is defamatory or in contempt of court or calculated to bring MMSSB into disrepute.

| 11. |
Further and in addition to clause 10(c) above, the participant and/or Parent hereby agrees that his/her/child’s entry in this Contest shall not contain anything which is an infringement of, including but not limited to copyright, trademarks or service marks, or which is calculated to bring MMSSB into disrepute or breach of contract or duty of confidence or which is defamatory or in contempt of court or calculated to bring MMSSB into disrepute. |

| 12. |
The participant and/or Parent hereby assigns and agrees to assign to MMSSB all the participant’s rights, title and interest to each entry submitted, for the full copyright period and confirms that the entries made in connection with the Contest shall be the property of MMSSB. |

| 13. |
Results once announced are final. Disputes or appeals will not be entertained. |
| |
|
| 14. |
Contest prizes must be collected within 14 days from the date of notification and thereafter, unclaimed prizes will be dealt with according to legislative requirements. It will be the responsibility of each winner to collect his or her prize. |
| |
|
| 15. |
If a specified prize becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, MMSSB may at its discretion, without notice, substitute a similar prize or one of equivalent value and all prizes are non-transferable and are not redeemable for cash. |
| |
|
| 16. |
Prizes may only be collected upon verification of the winners' Identity Card (NRIC) number and their SPM 2009 results slip. |
| |
|
| 17. |
Winners are responsible for any and all taxes payable as a result of a prize being awarded or received. |
| |
|
| 18. |
All prizes are used/taken entirely at the risk of the winner at all times and MMSSB excludes all warranties in connection with any prize to the extent permitted by law. |
| |
|
| 19. |
Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission to MMSSB and its agencies to use the winner's name, photograph and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation and notice, unless prohibited by law. |
| |
|
| 20. |
MMSSB reserves the right to, at any time, change any aspect of the Contest (including the prizes, discontinuing or postponing the Contest) or any part of these terms and conditions without prior notice. |
| |
|
| 21. |
MMSSB, its agencies, affiliates, sponsors and representatives are not responsible for defective prizes or misuse of any prize, or for any claims, liability, loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the Contest promoted by MMSSB. |
| |
|
| 22. |
MMSSB further reserves the right to cancel, modify, suspend, delay or shorten the period of the contest in the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond its reasonable control. |
| |
|
| 23. |
MMSSB shall not be liable to the participants and/or Parents or any other party for any loss or damage of whatsoever nature suffered by a participant and/or Parent as a result of participation or non-participation in the Contest, acceptance or non-acceptance of the Contest prize or as a result of any act or omission on the part of MMSSB. |

| 24. |
By participating in this Contest, the participant and/or Parent agrees to release and hold MMSSB free and harmless of any all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with this Contest or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prize, including, without limitation, personal injuries, death, and property damage, and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy. |

| 25. |
In addition to these terms and conditions, the rules, regulations and methods of participation of the Contest, the MMSSB mobile registration form terms and conditions (“Principal Terms and Conditions”) which are set out on www.maxis.com.my shall bind all participants and/or Parents. Failure to comply with the said rules, regulations, instructions or methods will result in the participant being disqualified. |

| 26. |
The due observance and fulfillment of the above terms and conditions in so far as they relate to anything to be done or complied with by the participant and/or Parent shall be conditions precedent to any entitlement (if any) of the participant to receive a prize and/or reward pursuant to this Contest. |
