What is this offer all about?
Maxis is offering customers discounts on selected devices when they purchase the devices with the specified data packages.
Where do I go if I encounter any fault with the device I purchase?
You can go back to the service centre of each manufacturer.
Can I upgrade the data package within the contract period?
Yes, you may upgrade your data package up to 3GB. For example, if you purchase a HTC Evo 3D at 1GB x 12 months, and later on wants to upgrade to 3GB within the contract period, you are allowed to do so.
Can I downgrade the data package within the contract period?
No, you may not downgrade the data package. However, if you have upgraded it within the contract period and later on decided to downgrade it back to the original data package within the contract
period, you may do so. There will be no penalty incurred.
For example: Customer purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note at 1GB x 12 months. After 4 months, customer wants to upgrade the data package to 3GB. After 3 months, customer decides to downgrade the data package back to 1GB. Customer can do so without incurring a penalty. HOWEVER, customer cannot downgrade to the data packages that are lower than 1GB. In other words, customers are not allowed to downgrade to the data packages lower than the original data package signed when they purchase the device.
How many units can I purchase under this offer?
Outright purchase: No limit.
Contract: Maximum 2 contracts per I/C
Can I change my rate plan after I have purchased this device under the data package?
Yes, you can change your rate plan between Value Plus Plans and Value First only after purchasing the device. You cannot change it to a supplementary line.
How/Who do I contact if I have further queries about this device/offer?
You can check out our website or visit our Maxis centres for more information.
Who is entitled for this offer?
All Maxis postpaid consumer individual who are willing to subscribe to data.
Is there any advance payment that I need to pay to sign up for this offer?
No, there isn’t any advance payment.
What happens if I terminate my line within my contract period?
You will incur penalty as per your signed contract.
What happens if I suspend my line within my contract period?
Your penalty will stop and continues upon reactivation of the line within 3 months.
What happens if I transfer my line to another user within the contract period?
Penalty will be triggered and you will have to pay for it.
What happens if I transfer my line to my other Maxis account?
You will have to continue to pay the monthly committed amount as per the contract.
Must I sign up for the data package if I want to purchase the handset at the subsidised
price?
Yes, you have to sign up for a data package.
Can I purchase the handset at a retail price?
Yes, you can purchase the device at retail price.
I’m not a Maxis customer, can I purchase the handset under this offer?
No, these offers are for our Maxis customers.
Can I purchase this handset for my supplementary line without changing the rate plan?
No, you have to change a supplementary line to a principal line before proceeding.
Where can I purchase the handsets?
You can purchase them at all our Maxis centres and selected dealers.
Can I get my friend to purchase the handset and take up the offer on my behalf?
No, only the owner of the line can sign the contract.
Can I trade in my current handset with the handsets under this offer?
No, we do not offer this service.
Is there any free gift upon purchasing the handsets?
Usually we do not offer free gifts unless it is a promotion.
Will I get a special price if I’m an MOC customer?
You will be informed accordingly if there is.
Can I purchase a higher value handset and sign up a lower value data package and vice versa?
Yes, you can but your upfront payment for the handset will be different.
I’m an existing customer and still under data contract. Will I still enjoy the RM10 rebate on monthly data upon migration of data quota? If yes, for how long?
Yes, you will still enjoy the rebate for the duration of the contract.
Will I get a RM10 rebate on monthly data if I purchase a device under this offer from 31st January 2012?
There will be no more rebate, the price of monthly data is already lower than previously what is offered.
I’m currently under data contract and enjoying a RM10 monthly rebate. I want to sign up another line to purchase a device with this offer but found out that RM10 rebate is not offered anymore for new sign up. Why wouldn’t I be getting it?
There will be no more rebate moving forward, the price of monthly data is already lower than previously what is offered.
I’m currently on data contract and enjoy the RM10 monthly rebate. When my data quota is upgraded, will I still enjoy the monthly RM10 rebate if I change my data package within the contract period?
Yes, you will still get it for 500MB and above data package within the contract period.
Can I upgrade or downgrade the data package after my contract expires?
Yes, you can.
Can I sign up for a new data contract once the contract expires?
Yes, you can.
If I purchase the handset outright, which data package can I subscribed to?
You can choose to subscribe to any of our data packages.
I’ve purchased Samsung Galaxy Note and sign up for 1GB data for 12 months. Can I purchase a quota upgrade while I’m on this monthly data?
Yes, if your monthly data quota is not enough and you receive SMS notification prompting you, you may purchase quota upgrade.
Will I receive SMS notification for my data usage?
Yes, you will receive an SMS notification when your data usage hits 80% and 100% of your monthly data quota.
I’ve received an SMS notification on 31st Jan stating that my data has been upgraded. What is this SMS all about?
We are pleased to inform you that your monthly data quota has been upgraded and you have been more data quota at no additional charge from Maxis.
