What is Maxis SafeDevice?

Maxis SafeDevice is a device protection program. It provides protection against certain types of damage that aren’t protected by the manufacturer’s warranty (E.g. stolen, attended theft, and accidental liquid or physical damage). 

When can I purchase Maxis SafeDevice?

Maxis SafeDevice can be purchased at the point you sign up a device contract from Maxis.

How do I make a service request?

You can call our Safe Device support team directly at 1800-88-6888. Our friendly support team will guide you through the quick and easy process. 

What is Replacement Service Fee?

The replacement service fee is the amount you need to pay if you make a service request on your Maxis SafeDevice and the service request is approved. 

Why do I have to pay a Replacement Service Fee if I file a service request for my device?

The Replacement Service Fee is allows you to enjoy far less than the full retail price that you would pay for a replacement device in an event of an incident. We try to keep our fee as affordable as possible to benefit all of our subscribers.

What replacement device will I receive?

Our goal is to replace your device with the same make and model as the device that is the subject of your Service Request. However, some models may no longer be available and you may receive a “like-for-like” device. The replacement device will be of the same or similar kind, quality and functionality and may be refurbished. It may have the same or greater memory and it may be of a different make, model or colour.

Can I subsribe Maxis SafeDevice at any time?

You can only purchase Maxis SafeDevice if you meet these criteria:

  • You must be an existing Maxis postpaid customer;
  • You must subscribe to the protection within 10 days for any new device that you have purchased from Maxis; and
  • Your device must not be lost or stolen and must be in good working condition when you subscribe the protection plan.

What if I change my mind?

You may cancel your protection at any time without charge provided you have not made a service request at the point of cancellation. To cancel your protection, please call Maxis Call Centre on 123 (free from a Maxis mobile).

Will I be advised when there are changes to Maxis SafeDevice?

Yes, in the event of any changes we will notify you by SMS, calls or website. You can also call or walk into any Maxis center for enquiries.  For further details on how we will do so please review the terms and conditions section.

What do I do with my old damaged device?

You are required to return your damaged or defective device to our delivery team at the point of replacement. You will need to prepare and return the damaged or defective device for collection from our team. If the device was lost or stolen, the requirement to return the device does not apply. 

How do I know if I’m eligible to purchase Maxis SafeDevice?

To be eligible for any protection, you must enroll within 10 days of the following:

  • New account activation with your new device
  • Upgrade with to a new device contract purchase

What do I do if my mobile device is lost or stolen?

If your device is lost or stolen, you may suspend your line/service to avoid any unauthorized usage. You can suspend your service by:

  • Dial 123 to call our Maxis Service Team
  • Walk into any Maxis Centre to suspend your service
Note: Upon approval of service request, Maxis will perform IMEI blocking of lost or stolen device(s). 
i. You will need to provide a valid police report of your stolen device for confirmation

How quickly will I receive my replacement deivce?

For any service request, the date you receive your device will be determined by the date your service request is approved.

  • Within Klang Valley: Your replacement device will be delivered within 1 -3 working days.
  • Outside of Klang Valley: Your replacement device will be delivered within 5 – 7 working days.

What if I’m a customer protected by previous Maxis Device Protection (MDP) program?

Maxis Device Protection is no longer available for new customers. If you are the customer covered by our previous Maxis Device Protection (MDP) product, or protection sign up before 15th Jan 2016, please find your terms and conditions at www.brightstarprotect.com/maxis

How does the 4 months SafeDevice rebate work?

Just buy Samsung S7 or S7 edge of ANY variant with any Maxis Zerolution or Contract plans to enjoy the rebate.

You will be subscribed to SafeDevice with complete coverage from losses and damages of your phone.

What happens after 4 months SafeDevice?

You will be charged for SafeDevice at RM29/month. If you’re taking Zerolution Premium (SafeDevice + Annual Upgrade), you’ll be charged at RM23/month and the fee for Annual Upgrade is RM30/month.

What if I don’t feel like continuing SafeDevice?

Having SafeDevice means you can enjoy your phone, worry-free. However, if you choose to discontinue SafeDevice, you can do so at any time by calling Maxis or visit your nearest Maxis Centre.

Is this promo valid if I buy iPhone 7?

For now, the promo is only available for Samsung S7 and S7 edge. Stay tuned for more exciting offers.

When does this promo end?

This promo ends on 31 January 2017.

When will I be getting my rebates?

It will be reflected on your second bill onwards.
