What is Maxis Zerolution?
Maxis Zerolution is a smartphone programme that allows you to walk away with the device at RM0 upfront payment and pay your phone over 24 monthly payments at 0% interest, yet not having to lock yourself down to the same phone and plan for 24 months. You don’t have to wait to complete your 24 monthly payments, you can choose to upgrade to a new phone 12 months later and your remaining 12 monthly payments will be waived. All you need to do is walk into our store after completing 12 monthly payments, return your old phone and choose a new phone on Maxis Zerolution. That way, you can continuously change your phone every year! It’s truly the easiest way to own a smartphone.

How much do I need to pay for Maxis Zerolution?
Maxis Zerolution’s monthly fee may vary depending on the phone you choose. The monthly fee displayed is the monthly fee that will be charged into your postpaid bill that includes the feature to upgrade your device after 12 months. This monthly fee does not include your rate plan commitment or your Zerolution premium device protection.
How many months do I need to pay for Maxis Zerolution?
You will need to pay the Zerolution monthly fee for at least 12 months. After completing 12 monthly payments of Zerolution monthly fee, you can upgrade to a new phone and the remaining 12 months monthly payments will be waived. The Zerolution monthly fee will be charged into your postpaid bill until you upgrade. Therefore, if you upgrade to a new phone at month 14, you will have paid Zerolution monthly fee for 14 months.
If you are opt not to enroll into the early upgrade program, your Zerolution monthly fee will be lower and you will need to complete 24 monthly payments of that monthly fee.
Is there any upfront payment or advance payment required?
If you qualify for Maxis Zerolution, there is no upfront payment or advance payment required. You can walk away with a phone without forking out a single cent!
How do I upgrade to a new phone after 12 months?
If you are enrolled into the early upgrade program, after completing 12 months of your Zerolution monthly fee, you can walk into our store and return your old phone in good working condition and select a new phone on Maxis Zerolution. No upfront payment for the new phone, no upfront upgrade fee required! Your new Zerolution monthly fee will be based on the Zerolution monthly fee of the new phone that you purchased.
What if the phone I return after 12 months is not in good working condition?
For returned phones that do not meet the criteria of an acceptable phone, you may be subjected to an access fee of RM300 upon returning in order to upgrade. However, if the phone is no longer functional (i.e unable to power on, cracked screen with leaked LCD), the phone will not be accepted to be returned. The monthly early upgrade fee that you have paid will not be reimbursed. Please refer to our phone return guidelines.
We highly encourage to sign-up for our Zerolution premium protection for a peace-of-mind to cover for potential mishaps such as cracked screen phone, water damage, and stolen phone. That way, whatever happens to your phone during the first 12 months, rest assured you will be able to get a new replacement within 48hrs to get you going until you choose to return and upgrade to a new phone.
If I buy the premium device protection, what exactly does it cover?
The Zerolution premium protection covers all accidental damage, screen cracks, water damage and attended theft. No matter what happens to your phone during the period when you are enrolled in the Zerolution upgrade programme, you will get a new replacement device within 48 hours upon approval of claim.
You can use the replacement device and return it after the 12th month. This way, you won’t have to worry about your upgrade fee being forfeited even if your phone is damaged.

If I take up the annual upgrade programme but decide not to upgrade afterwards, what will happen?
The annual upgrade fee is a feature that allows you the flexibility to upgrade to a new phone in as early as 12 months. Should you decide not to upgrade at any point, you can simply opt out of the upgrade programme. There will be no termination charges for canceling. However, the upgrade fees that have been paid up till that point will be forfeited.
What if after 12 months, I forget to upgrade even though I am enrolled in the upgrade program. Isn’t it unfair to forfeit the upgrade fees that I have already paid?
You will be notified through various mediums as soon as you have reached 12 months. We will continuously keep in contact with you to ensure you are always aware of opportunities to get the latest smartphone.
What if I cancel my Zerolution or terminate my line with Maxis?
There is no additional penalty if you cancel Zerolution or terminate your line with Maxis. All you will need to do, is pay off the remaining device balance which is equivalent to the RRP/24 x remaining months. The monthly early upgrade fee that you have paid will not be reimbursed. For example if your Zerolution fee is RM120/mth (RM90/mth + RM30/mth early upgrade fee) for a phone that is retailed at RM2400.
Can I upgrade to a new phone earlier than 12 months?
For now, you can only upgrade after 12 months and after you have completed paying off your 12 months Zerolution monthly fee. Alternatively, you can cancel your Zerolution and pay off the remaining device balance upfront and start a new Zerolution cycle. However, the monthly early upgrade fee that you have paid will not be reimbursed.
Who is eligible for Maxis Zerolution?
You have to be a Maxis customer with good payment record in order to qualify for Maxis Zerolution. Upon signing up onto this program, we will perform a credit check to evaluate your credit rating. If you meet the criteria, you can immediately enroll into Maxis Zerolution and walk away with a new phone at RM0 upfront payment. We don’t need your personal documents such as proof of income, bank statement or names of guarantor. From your account history, we can tell you instantly whether you qualify for Maxis Zerolution or not.
For customers who do not qualify for Maxis Zerolution, you will only be able to purchase a phone with Maxis through our normal contract price offer or outright purchase at the retail price. However, come back after a few months and we can re-evaluate your eligibility to enroll into Maxis Zerolution to see if you have improved your credit rating.
For new customers joining Maxis for the very first time, you will need to wait for 6 months in order to build your credit rating. After 6 months, we can evaluate eligibility to enroll into Maxis Zerolution and see if you qualify for Maxis Zerolution.
For new customers joining Maxis from other operators, you can qualify for Maxis Zerolution too. During your port-in request, log in to your mobile service provider ‘s e-bill service and present your last 3 month postpaid bill from your previous operator with cleared outstanding and we can may allow you to enroll for Maxis Zerolution after the necessary credit eligibility checks.
How would I know if I qualify for Maxis Zerolution?
For existing Maxis customers with an Maxis Online Account, you can go to our Online Store and check your eligibility once you have logged in. Alternatively, you can walk into any of our stores and enquire about your eligibility.
What phones are available on Maxis Zerolution?
All phones and tablets with the Maxis Zerolution logo are available on Maxis Zerolution. Phones and tablets that do not have the Maxis Zerolution logo can be purchased through the normal contract price offer.
Can I choose any rate plans to sign up for Maxis Zerolution?
You can choose between any of our MaxisONE plans to sign up for Maxis Zerolution. For customers who are currently on other plans, you will have to move to a MaxisONE plan to enjoy Maxis Zerolution.
How many phones can I purchase on Zerolution?
You are entitled to purchase up to 3 Zerolution devices, depending on your payment record. Each line can only have 1 device commitment at any one time..
I am currently on contract with Maxis. Can I sign up for Maxis Zerolution?
Each line can only sign up for 1 device contract at any one time. You will have to complete your current contract duration before you get Maxis Zerolution. Alternatively, you can end your current contract by paying the early termination charges and then sign up for Maxis Zerolution.
Where can I sign up Maxis Zerolution?
For existing Maxis customers, you can check your eligibility and instantly purchase your next phone on Maxis Zerolution through our Online Store. For those who are not eligible, you can purchase your next phone on the normal contract price offer by walking into any of our stores.
For new customers joining Maxis from other operators, you may request to port-in your number through our Online Store. Then you may walk in to our store and present your last 3 month postpaid bill in order to be eligible for Maxis Zerolution.
Who is affected by the change in Terms and Conditions?
All customers who have signed up to Zerolution prior to and from 29th April 2016 onwards are affected by the change.
What are the changes in the updated Zerolution Terms and Conditions?
We have added clause #17 by which effective 29th April 2016, the customer's device IMEI will be blocked in the event of fraud, suspicion of fraud, and/or failure to make bill payments over a continuous period of three (3) months.
What will happen if I do not settle the bill in full?
The total outstanding amount in the account has to be settled in order for the device to be unblocked. The device will remain blocked in the event that the payment made is insufficient.
How will I know if my device is blocked? Will I receive any notifications on this?
Prior to the blocking of your device and the barring of related accounts, we will contact you to advise on the action to be taken if there is no payment made within the next 3 days from the calling date. An SMS will be sent via desktop to ensure clear communication. As long as you are contactable via call and the SMS sent is successfully delivered, a 3-day grace period will be applied. If we fail to contact you (i.e. no response and SMS cannot be successfully delivered), your device will be blocked and the barring of related accounts will be performed immediately.
What will happen once I pay my bills after the device has been blocked?
Upon payment confirmation of the full outstanding amount, we will unblock your device within 3 days.
