Max WiFi & Always On WiFi FAQ

  • Max WiFi by Maxperts now includes Always On WiFi (4G backup internet) alongside EasyMesh WiFi 6 devices for seamless coverage. Key updates effective 17 June 2025:

    • Max WiFi Lite (RM19/month): 1 EasyMesh WiFi 6 device for extended coverage.
    • Max WiFi Standard (RM29/month): Up to 2 EasyMesh devices + Always On WiFi (4G backup).
    • Max WiFi Premium (RM49/month): Full-coverage EasyMesh devices + Always On WiFi.

    Installation Process:

    • Free consultation and installation by Maxpert technicians.
    • Technicians analyse your home layout to strategically place devices for optimal coverage.
  • A backup service providing 4G internet during fibre outages at your registered address. Includes: 4G Backup SIM and 4G Dongle, pre-configured with your Maxis router during installation

  • Yes. Always On WiFi (RM9/month) is available as a standalone service.

  • The subscription fee are as follows:

  • Yes. All plans require a 6-month minimum commitment. Early termination incurs fees equal to the remaining monthly subscription charges.

  • Currently, plan changes are not supported. Our Maxperts will assess your home during installation and recommend the optimal plan.

  • There is no deposit or advance payment required, and installation is FREE.

  • Yes. The Premium plan guarantees full coverage. For Lite/Standard plans, coverage depends on home size. Maxperts will:

    • Perform a thorough layout analysis.
    • Recommend the right plan during installation.
  • Premium Plan: Full coverage guaranteed.
    Lite/Standard Plans: Extended coverage only. Upgrade to Premium for larger homes.

  • No, the 4G Backup dongle is provided for use only with a Maxis provided router at your Maxis Fibre plan installation address. You are not allowed to plug the dongle into any router or device not provided by Maxis or location other than the registered Maxis Fibre plan installation address.

    Your service may be barred or terminated if the service is detected to be used with non-Maxis router or outside your premises.

  • WiFi Extender/Repeater (Old Technology)

    • What it does: Acts like a "signal booster" – takes your existing WiFi and rebroadcasts it to areas with weak coverage.
    • Downsides:
      • Creates two separate WiFi names (e.g., HomeWiFi and HomeWiFi_EXT).
      • You must manually switch networks as you move around the house.
      • Often causes dropped connections or slower speeds.

    Maxis WiFi Mesh (New Solution)

    • What it does: Uses multiple devices (called "nodes") to create one seamless network for your whole home.
    • Benefits:
      • Single WiFi name: No manual switching – your phone/laptop stays connected automatically.
      • Smart connection: Always connects you to the strongest signal as you move.
      • Better coverage: Eliminates dead zones in large homes.
    • Normal wear and tear (discolouration, light scratches): Free replacement.
    • Beyond normal use (cracks, water damage, missing components): RM299/unit fee.
    • Lost devices: RM299/unit non-return fee.
  • Visit any Maxis Store with all EasyMesh devices.
    Early termination fee: Applies if cancelling within the 6-month contract (remaining monthly fees).
    Non-return fee: RM299 per missing/damaged EasyMesh device.

  • Yes, but:
    Coverage: May reduce WiFi range.
    Backup: Always On WiFi will deactivate.

  • Bring all EasyMesh devices to your new address.

    Maxperts will:

    • Reconfigure devices during fibre relocation.
    • Ensure optimal coverage at the new premises.
  • EasyMesh Devices:

    • Termination: Return all units to avoid a RM299/unit non-return fee.
    • Relocation: Bring devices to your new address for reconfiguration by Maxperts.

    4G Dongle:

    • No return required, but service terminates upon cancellation.

Existing subscribers before 17 June 2025

  • Currently, upgrade from Basic or Premium plan to the latest Max WiFi plans is not supported.

    If you would like us to review your subscription plan, please contact us to arrange our Maxperts to perform a comprehensive WiFi coverage analysis at your household and recommend the right plan for you.

  • Yes, you can terminate your Basic or Premium plan and sign up for the new Max WiFi plans. However, if your subscription is still within the contract period, an early termination fee will be charged based on the remaining monthly subscription fees of your current plan.

  • Yes, you can continue with your current plan without any changes.
