Maxis eKelas HIP StoryFest: Empowering students to excel in English and beyond

eKelas recently concluded its 2023 edition of Highly Immersive Programme (HIP) StoryFest. Now in its fifth year, this year's competition aimed to boost participants' confidence in spoken English. Students had the option to participate in individual storytelling categories or group mini-drama performances based on specific themes.

The competition commenced with a series of online storytelling workshops and school roadshows designed to bring the excitement of eKelas HIP StoryFest to schools and their communities.

Over a span of four months, eKelas HIP StoryFest garnered an overwhelming response, receiving over 8,000 entries from students across Malaysia. To draw the competition to a close, eKelas celebrated and rewarded 70 winners, comprising students from Year 4 to Form 5 nationwide, with attractive prizes such as tablets and book vouchers.

Maxis' flagship community programme, eKelas, continues to support students’ learning beyond the classroom. With over 90,000 registered users on its portal and growing, eKelas offers an engaging and dynamic approach to digital learning.

Students recognise the positive outcomes of the competition

Form 2 students from SMK Convent Kajang, Selangor - Sirheeya A/P Kalidass, Sharmisstha Jagatis Waran and Evelyn Ng Shi Qi who won the First Prize in Mini Drama – Lower Secondary shared the following:

Cheah Xing Ru, a primary student from SJK (C) Chee Wen, Selangor who won the First Prize, Storytelling – Primary Level category, commented:

Maxis continues to support students’ growth and learning

As an after-school digital learning initiative for students from Year 4 to Form 5, eKelas brings learning enrichment in a fun and vibrant way and provides access to quality education content, in line with the Malaysian School Syllabus. Focusing on Science, Mathematics, English, Bahasa Melayu and History as well as digital and soft skills topics, eKelas students are exposed to experiential learning through a combination of live tutorials, group learning, competitions and digital content via the eKelas portal and app.
