The WBA is a series of roaming arrangements between major internationalwireless operators around the world. The members of the alliance encompass leaders in the telecommunications industry as well as world-class equipment and service providers. Customers of participating operators will now be able to use their Wi-Fi subscription at home and roam in other participating WBA carrier member countries to experience world-class wireless broadband. The WBA redefines the way that international travellers will stay connected while travelling international.

Collectively, WBA members operate over 35,000 wireless hotspots worldwide.

Available at over 2500 hotspots worldwide. (not inclusive of the other access methods like dialup; ISDN and wired Ethernet) For the latest list of countries to roam using this facility please update your iPass client phone book regularly. To do this you firstly need to be connected to the internet then open your iPass client then select "Options" and followed by "Update Phonebook". The time taken to update the phonebook is dependent on your internet connection speed.

Note:
For users who have previously downloaded the iPASS client, newer versions of the client will automatically be pushed to you if you have an older version in your wireless device.

Ease of Use With A Single Login Interface
Select what type of connection you would like to use (dialup; ISDN; Wired Ethernet or Wireless LAN). Then select which country you are in. After which you can narrow down your search by selecting the state, city or area code. You can even store your frequently used access points using the bookmark feature for easier access in the future. For your convenience, the same roaming software interface can be used in any country you travel to.

Wide selection of service providers
You can get connected with a number of different local service providers from almost anywhere in the world. Furthermore, the Select All feature (only applicable to Dial-up and ISDN). , instructs the client software to automatically roll over to an alternate wireless broadband provider until it connects, saving you the hassle of having to determine the local service provider in a foreign country.

Automatic Update of Hotspots
Users can always have the most current list of roaming countries and places because the client software can be set to automatically check for updates upon successful internet connection each day. You will have to go to "options" under "settings- general tab" check the box to update automatically. New countries and places are added automatically as more access providers are added to our roaming service, and periodically remove obsolete countries and areas as a part of the proactive network quality management program.

Automatic Software Updating
New versions of the roaming client software are released at regular intervals. This is automatically available to Maxis WLAN customers at this website below by downloading the client.

To subscribe to iPass roaming services, you will first need to sign up for Maxis' WLAN service yearly plan, and bring your passport to the nearest Maxis Centre for verification. Or contact your Account Manager.
