The Skyline VSAT service is based
on the SCPC (Single Channel Per Carrier) technology. It provides
dedicated point-to-point/multipoint connectivity between sites within
the coverage or footprint of the satellite. SkyLine’s true
advantage is high-quality dedicated transmission between locations
at dedicated bandwidths starting from 64Kbps up to 8Mbps.
SkyLine is able to support all kinds of transmission, from data
to voice, fax, and video, making it particularly pertinent for
reliable digital links between multinational corporations and branch
offices.
There are two types of configurations for a SkyLine
VSAT link. | |

Hub-to-Remote
Configuration |

In the Hub-to-Remote configuration, one end of
the VSAT link (normally the customer's Headquarters) is connected
to Maxis' 11 meter VSAT Hub (Earth Station) via a terrestrial leased
line. A VSAT antenna is installed at the other end of the VSAT link
(i.e.customer’s branch office or remote site). |

Remote-to-Remote
Configuration |

| |
VSAT links with Remote-to-Remote configuration do not go through
the Maxis VSAT hub. A stand-alone VSAT antenna is installed at both
ends
of the link. Typical VSAT antenna sizes range from 1.8 to 3.8 meters. |
