1. Install your Wireless LAN card Follow the instructions provided in your Wireless LAN user guide.

2. Configure your Wireless LAN card driver software
Select "new profile" or edit an existing profile (Example: Maxis, Wireless LAN1, etc)
Disable the WEP key
Select "Automatically detect settings for TCP/IP"
Select "Infrastructure" as your operating mode
Key in or select "maxis" as the SSID or Network name
Select "Obtain IP address from the DHCP server"
Select "Automatic channel/frequency selection"
Note: For Windows XP, most cards have an in-built UIS so you only need to enter "maxis" as the network name & ensure the WEP key is disabled. |

3. Set up your Network configuration
Go to "Network Places", right click mouse and select properties
Select TCP/IP "Wireless LAN Card brand" and go to "Properties"
Upon access to TCP/IP, ensure the following are enabled:
- "Automatically to obtain IP Address"
- "Obtain DNS server address automatically"
On the main menu:
- Select tools
- Click the "Internet Explorer" icon
- Select "Internet options" under the "Connections" tab
- Select "Never Dial A Connection"
- Click "LAN settings"
- Ensure "Automatically detect settings" is enabled

4. Register for Maxis WLAN service
Upon successful configuration of your device, the Maxis WLAN login page will appear after you launch your web browser in hotspots.
Click "Register" on Maxis WLAN login page
Complete the on-line registration form
Enter your login ID and password
