ISDN uses a circuit switched access technology. A dial-up service with the same call charges as the ordinary telephone, the Primary Rate Interface (PRI) has 30 bearer channels, which allows 30 calls to be made at any one time, and provides you up to 2 Megabits of bandwidth.
What else should I know about using ISDN?
One PRI trunk can provide 30 of 64 kilobits per second (kbps) transmission lines, supporting voice and data applications over PABX. You will need to have equipment that can support ISDN PRI. For example, your PABX must have ISDN PRI card.
